Gorgeous. I love the way regiments appear to move in companies. I bet that makes a huge difference for maneuvering and calculating lines of fire, and especially for melee. Does it stop the awkwardness of the whole regiment converging on one spot or clipping through enemy lines as it rotates?

Great Shots!
I would be interested in learning the provenance of the swallow-tail flag in the second shot.
Thanks
J
Still curious...any ideas?

I can't remember exactly where we got it from! Jim was the expert and we had input from other people on the team (and even from forum members).

Thanks for trying. If you should recall, I would appreciate the source. As far as my limited knowledge allows me, I don't remember any Confederate swallow tail flags other than an extremely small pennant proposed/used on a "pike."

Good screenies there...overall, polish is as good as I'd want it. Too much focus these days on graphics over play, you want graphics that acurately depict what's happening without being FPS level "Beautiful".
Can't see me zooming in that often to appreciate graphics to be honest...not when there's a whole battlefield to cover!
Top work..waiting for release now.

Jack,
Good catch. The Swallowtail for CS was carried over from US without critical examination. I have fixed this and the correctly sized battle flags will now be present for CS cavalry and artillery.

How does one properly view each screen shot? The screen shot doesn't open for me at all. I've got Windows 7, but that shouldn't a problem.

I don't have Windows 7 so I'm not sure the menu choices will be the same, but in XP I right click on the thumbnail then select "Open Link in New Window". That opens the thumbnail. After it opens the thumbnail, I can then left click on the screenshot and it is blown up even further.

I put a link in the article to the facebook page. There you should have no problem viewing the screenshots.

Gentlemen!
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t paid any attention to the screenshots as you’ve been releasing them. I had assumed there’s going to be a limit to what you can do within the medium you’re using and how well it needs to integrate with the game.
But good grief! This game is gorgeous! I had no idea you’ve been able to create a game of such stunning visual quality!
Seriously. As a big fan of TC2M I’ve just been sitting biding my time and encouraging the team to take their time as well, and really create a work of art, something that will stand the test of time.
BY GUM IF YOU GUYS AREN’T REALLY DOING IT!
I am so impressed!
You could have knocked me over with a feather, some of the screenshots were SO OUTSTANDING! Far more than I had even thought possible. Fully-manned and animated gunnery crews? WOW
Rich colors without being cartoonish (a personal peeve), immense detail in terrain and personnel, right down to slouch and posture in the saddle and the horses’ graceful poise. The cloud cover and sky are photograph-quality, many of the rock piles and wood fences are indistinguishable from the real thing! I don’t know how you did it, but this stuff is even better than the best FPS games I’ve seen out there!
It’s not my place to say, but I sure hope you men get this thing out there in the public eye as far and as high-up as you can take it, as broad an exposure as possible! People need to see this thing!
I don’t know if the industry gives an award for best visuals and graphics, but they sure should now. No question it’s a 10.
That’s it, I’m upping my previous offer. I’ll take three copies on CD/DVD and three printed game manuals. You can take that to the bank!
I asked you men to please consider doing an old wargamer a favor and really show people what could be done, after all the trash that’s been released out there of late. I asked you to take your time and really make a work of art, something that would really set the bar high, something by which all future games will be measured. You’re doing just that men, You’re doing just that.
I hope to heaven itself you sell 10,000 copies of this thing. At least! People just need to see it.
If the best creators of computer games out there are men of great character that are magnanimous and gracious enough to admit the enormous leap forward you’ve taken the industry as a whole, I hope they shower you with the accolades you deserve.
I’m absolutely knocked-out by what I’ve seen in here.
Merry Christmas everyone! And the Happiest of New Years for the team!
Odox
P.S. My wife watched me load the thumbnails from over my shoulder, and she gasped at the beauty of the woodland scenes and the fields and hilltops. She suggested you consider putting in crickets and birdsongs in the rear areas and at times when the cannon and rifles haven't been firing. It would add a lot to the idyllic setting so many of these scenes conjure up. The crash of cannon and rifle fire would add to the shock-effect, I'm sure! Plus the nature sounds would be pretty soothing listening as you're accompanying your troops on the march.
