That order was highly subject to interpretation. If someone else already took the "first" top rail, the next guy then finds a "new" top rail right down the the very last (and originally bottom) rail! :P

Bedbug and I created all the game's fences: a "worm" fencing, a rail fencing for most of the major roads, a picket fence, a wrought-iron fence, a stone wall, and like 3 other types of residential fencing throughout the town. i think that's it.

we wanted to show variety with the fewest amount of different map objects possible, to maximize gameplay.

Somehow, I think the troops also figured that one out!

Just like Colonel Rice, who kept the brigade from drowning after G-burg. So we get a court-martial.

Then we promote him to division command!

I'm afraid we don't have the memory to be able to show artillery (or anyone else) dismantling fences. the white shirts are also a compromise - I would love to be able to do a Don Trioani full on mix of uniforms with checked shirts and bootless rebels etc but sadly there are limits. The maps are beautiful by the way - all Eric and Dereks work. When you first start the game you will just want to wander about looking at famous places.

Thanks very much for the response, Tim!

I had thought that "memory" was probably the reason for the fences...and also understand the limits you are referring to in other areas as well.

We used his books as the main reference - they are very impressive paintings.
