Nice to see you around again
Solomon.
Part of me agrees with this comment and part also agrees with
Norb'sview. It would be nice to chat with everyone.......but I think using a courier to send orders would make it more historical and fair.
I was also wondering.....will it be possible to send a courier under flag of truce to your opponent?

I was thinking the voice system would be used just for the banter between players; the courier system would still be used for relaying orders.

Solomon - I really don't have a problem, as long as the entire Server agrees to the terms of the battle. Maybe we need a starter screen where opposing armies negotiate terms of the fight.
JC - Congrats, rarely do I hear a brand new idea and I must say that I have never had the idea, nor heard the idea of sending a courier to your opponent. I'll have to think about that, but to be honest, I seriously doubt that would be in this release. It would require a lot of code changes and it's something that would be a definite new feature. Interesting concept though...
General, a courier has arrived from General Lee
What!? From Lee. What could he possibly want? Read it man!
General,
As I have just smacked your ass in a most satisfying manner. Consider yourself schooled in the placement of artillery. If you would like another lesson, my Mom says that I can stay up late Saturday evening and I would be happy to negotiate terms of another whoopin.
Your most humble servant,
General Robert E. Lee

That was great Norb:woohoo:
Obviously, you are still debating the lobby system for multiplayer, but how would you connect for multiplayer? Quick connect, if that is the case how could custome games be set up?
Gen.JC, I shall protest these charges sir!! This is a travesty of the highest order. Unless you wish to have mass dessertion(sp?) of crack troops, I suggest you hold your order:laugh:
lol

You will be able to type in the IP of the server, or you can go to the lobby, either way will get you into a game. Once you are in the game, you will be brought to the game setup screen. This is where you choose the map/scenario/who you are playing/etc., there is a chat here so you can discuss the terms of engagement.

Thanks
Norb.......your courier quote was pretty outstanding!
It just came to mind last night.......I was thinking about Armisteads talk with Longstreet.... in the Gettysburg movie....about sending a courier over under a flag of truce to set up that meeting he wanted with Hancock.
As you said, maybe in the future that's something that can be added.

I'll think about it.......let me finish my coffee first.

Does Xfire have to specifically support the NSD game and does NSD's game have to have specific code to support the use of Xfire?

I do not believe so.

They would have to release an update in order to support it. TC2M is not support by xfire. Xfire reads the games that are on your hard drive, but I think they need to be in their database in order for the game to be recognized.

Say you're commanding a Division and you have a couple other members commanding 2 brigades and they're right there with you on the field (basically face to face)......is it, or could it be possible, to converse with them vocally, solely for issuing orders without your opponent/'s listening in, and vice versa?
Then, as they move away from you and you from them, you would have to rely on the courier system.
