The only negative about the new look is that it generates the thumbnails in the same folder, which means that I can't run the random images on the front page because sometimes it grabs the low res thumb as the image.

I think you need some sort of fairly large in-game graphic on the home page to grab the attention of visitors. You need something on that first page to make them want to explore more. A static graphic in combination with a looping in-game video is an attention grabber. Both of those are available now based on the apparent progress of game development. As an example, check out the Total War home page http://www.totalwar.com/.

You've got to be selling the game from the first screen. As they say in sales, "ABC"...always be closing (as in closing the sale).

I was thinking that you should show an in action screenie or a short movie clip of the game on the home page.

I would like that too, just have to wait until we have enough assets to publish it.

I really liked the opening movie on the first game, Civil War: Bull Run. Is there any possibility for something like that in the new game, norb? Or is it just going to be the standard logo shots? You might not even be thinking that far ahead.

Personally i dont care about a intro movie in a game. As long as i get my proper "fix" from the contents of the game. :laugh:

As for previews goes a clipshow or a small ingame movie would suffice. Which shouldnt be a major problem to cook up, thats my opinion atleast.

No, we won't have a movie for this game's opening. I guess we could do something in fraps, but nothing like CWBR. We got that for free in exchange for promoting that art team, I am no longer in contact with them and they were more of my partner's contact than mine anyway. Maybe one of the team will do some in game footage and make a cool movie out of it at some point, but it's all up in the air now.
