Great! Thanks Chamberlain ill try that out.
Did that and loaded up a scenario I was playing earlier and found that I’m getting I’m getting 5 – 6 FPS

Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s really crap isn’t it. Dang I’m depressed now Is there anything can be done?

i followed your link for the acer predator, can you confirm that you have 4Gb of RAM and you're still getting 5fps.

Yes Leeds85 Ive 4GB of Ram and an ATI 4850 HD card. I tried again and was getting as low as 4 FPS at one stage and I’m only running with SOW set for a screen resolution of 1024 x 764 I guess the game just doesn’t work properly on new systems.
My systems working fine I was playing Napoleon Total war today maxed out with a unit multiplier giving me units of over 200 for line infantry with full particle /smoke effects.
Bitterly Disappointed

I have reduced the percentage of trees by 50% and the draw distances back to 1300 yards but still am only averaging 7-8 FPS My system is using 2.55 – 2.60 gb out of 4GB during “A storm of lead and Iron scenario “ SOW is playable just. I paid big money for my system but I may as well get my old one down from the attic. A real disappointment.
I came into this battle with four core one is fighting and being hit hard while the other three are sitting on their butts.

Don't be too disappointed. This game can run slow. It is very dependent on the number of men. Running AI the way we do for all those guys really takes a lot of power. Full GB OOBs are gigantic and take a toll on the best computers. Make all those guys march and fight and it's even tougher. When TC2M came out, it was also very slow. Very few people could run it on full settings. We push it, we try to do as much as we can and keep it playable because we realize that tech is changing fast.

A quad core is a benefit in that the operating system will use one or two cores. The anti-virus program will use another and SOW will use still another. The next biggest effect can be had by switching to a 64 bit OS. You can then use more than 4GB of RAM. With 6 or 8 GB of RAM in your machine, you will be able to have SOW use the full 4GB available to 32 bit programs.

I have also put that fix in for the patch that allows 32 bit programs to use up to 3gb ram, only if the user has enabled that feature on their OS.
