You guys are amazing. Thought no one could complete this one until the patch was out. Now I've got to try it again, and join the Peach Orchard 3000 club. My best has just been slightly over 2500. Gotta rush in with overwhelming vigor, just like Barksdale did it that day, and by dusk, he and his boys made the longest charge in the war's history, or so I've read. If he hadn't gone down, they might have completed that charge, and split the Federal line. Oh, the What Ifs.

Also, this is a special scenario for me, check out the second courier message. :)

Yeah that's a VERY memory intensive scenario. Does it always crash in the same place? Are you able to reproduce the crash with an autosave? You probably already know this, but try lowering your graphic settings (trees 30 or less, draw distance 800 or 900, sight distance medium).. I know it won't be as pretty, but you should be able to at least complete it. :)

Yea, Powell, I got it to finish without crashing by basically lowering all the graphics settings to medium or less. Carred the day by having Early's men steal a march NW of town, routing the federal cavalry and seizing Cemetary ridge from the three federal batteries that occupied it. Very fun scenario; wish I had the memory to play it all on high or best settings.

Has the latest patch changed the victory conditions and VP points for this? I just got round to it. Chased the first time for being too slow, but got a hold of the VP fast the second time. Couple of regiments retreated to the tree line way in the rear, but they came back, and got their spirits back up. Wofford came up just in time, and there was support from the right. 4606...probably equivalent to 3000 and a bit if the VP was 100 before.

Yes, they increased the Victory points by 50 per minute (to 150 per minute). I also didn't see the same kind of rapid Union response to the victory area as in the previous patch. I ran through it a second ago and got 4198.

I think you should set your bar at 4,500 if you want an acheivement as difficult as scoring a mere 3,000 under the previous patch (old patch = VL 100/minute x 30 minutes = 3000; new patch == VL 150/minute x 30 minutes == 4500).

I think we are focussed on the single player scenario. In that scenario, you have contorl of Barksdale's brigade, only. You do not have control of any artillery units.

In a multiplayer game, presuming there is no scripting and that the Confederate player would have access to all four Confederate brigades plus the four batteries of artillery in McLaws' division, this scenario would be much, much easier.

Hi Guys-just got a beautiful win this morning-how does 5621 sound?! I must say, this was one of the most satisfying scenarios to play because of the incredibly good support from both Wofford and Kershaw. This first couple times I played it I went in too slow and got bogged down-went nowhere..Thanks for the pointers. Double quicked the Brigade and got a good foot hold on the Orchard intersection. The Mississippians fought hard while holding the middle of the line and didn't give an inch! Here's a pic on the way to the win:

And my ending score (unfortunately I didn't get an ending score showing the troops):

It's nice to know that this and the McPherson scenarios are possible to win and score well on!

You got about 1400 more than I did on that one! and that was after a number of times restarting the scenario. It would be a really hard scenario if Barksdale was on his own. You got a good victory-congratulations!

Thanks Boston--yeah, Barksdale on his own would probably be a really tough road to hoe aka impossible!
