I've had no sound problem with TC2M, including on this Vista 32 machine.

My problem, in the event others are having different issues, is the musket firing is very soft. The cannons appear OK.

I can tell the sound comes and goes. Musket fire is muffled and things change with the sound as you rotate/move the camera or the general around. It is possible that it has to do with surround/stereo but there's no stereo mixer here.

Vista anyway tells the Realtek drivers are up to date but I went on the website and downloaded a much newer version anyway... unfortunately it didn't help.

GShock yes sir indeed, mono sound files works best with multi channel setup "surround",this is a must for the best results in SOW the bigger the better. ??? is there anything bigger than 7 if so get it.
you can get by on 2X a bass but if you got only 2 speakers your sound performance will suffer.

i'm cranking things up hopefilly in time for patch..

I might be imagining this, but it appears that the sound will become dimmer with each click of the mouse when starting a new game.

The first screen where you pick the type of game is one volume, but the next screen that you click on is a lower volume.

Now, the wind, and the flags blowing is fine, but the musket sounds are very low.

This is with a Vista 32bit System , and the fix that Norb posted doesn’t apply to this operating system, nor does vista have the edit \ volume sound tool that came with the XP system.

For me its just the musket sounds that are very muffled.
Other sounds seem fine.

hi all, my first post, love the game.
My sound was very low, using creative sound blaster.
However a simple fix I found was manually adjusting my speakers volume as well as raising volume on my computer, Bingo! It will blow your head off, had to turn it down, music and battle sounds now work fine. regards, magpie.
