Bugles and Flags Version 01

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Sounds great!

Now, downloaded. What do I use to "unzip"? OPEN? Did that and sent to Modifications. Shows up in the left-hand column with the "yellow box." Click on "User Scenarios" and selected three different scenarios (independent of each other) and found no change from what I already had. In Sandbox, found no OOB ending in DRF. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong?

Thanks

How does one install this? Can we use the mod updater?
Unzip and there's a 'Read Me' file. It's a VERY simple process, thanks to the new mod friendly SOWGB engine.
NOT! At least for this old man! Posted another message in this thread asking for assistance.

Followed instructions and have same problem. No OOBs ending in DRF.

The screenshot looks great. Well done.

"OPEN? Did that and sent to Modifications"...say what? Not sure what you did. Simply put, unzip the first folder, you'll find 'Bugles and Flags v01', unzip this, copy the unzipped version into the SOWGB "Mods" folder. Also read the 'Read Me'

After thought, did you click 'Use Selected Mods' on the bottom of the Modifications screen?

It didn't work when I first tried it.

Then I looked at the file structure and saw that an additional redundant folder "Flags and Bugles v1.00 Folder" had somehow got itself interposed above the "Flags and Bugles v001). Probably a quirk of the ZIP program. This redundant folder also contained the .TXT file.

Once this spurious folder was removed from the path and the TXT file stored elsewhere everything worked fine.

OUTSTANDING RebBugler !!

Fantastic Job !!

Wow, it took longer to start the game than it did adding this Mod !!!! :) :)

The Splash Screens are incredible !! :)

The Toolbar is definitely cool, I liked it. I just had trouble with the OOB move keys.

The scenarios are a monster, wow, the Rebs are on you in no time and seeing all of those new flags waiving in the air, unbelievable.... !!

The 2 burning buildings really add to the realism !!

Ok, I am out of words, need to catch my breath !!!

Thanks to Norb & the Team creating a fast and easy way to install the Mods !!!

:silly: :woohoo: :)

OK, I see the problem. Once you unzip the file, open the unzipped folder to find the folder 'Bugles and Flags v01' plus the 'Read Me' file. Read the 'Read Me' and proceed from there. You can either extract to..., or just unzip 'Bugles..v01' in place, and then copy it into the SOWGB 'Mods' folder. The upper level folder was necessary to include the 'Read Me' file.

Hope this clears things up, and to think I thought it was easy.

Question: When I go to the downloaded mod and right-click, there are only five options including "Open, Cut, Copy, Delete, Properties." When I "OPEN", I have "Bugles & Flags, v01" with type "File Folder". Does that mean I have "unzipped" the original file? If so, then this is what I copy and place the copy in Modifications?

And, referring to the previous question, "Yes, I did select'Use Selected Mods.'"

Appreciate your help.

Ok professor, ya gotta learn to unzip, and to do that you need a unzip app. Click the link below, DOWNLOAD the rar file, top line, install, it will then appear in your right click options...hope you can take it from there. IT'S FREE

I understand the frustration you are experiencing with the computer illiterate like me! I am familiar with the type as I have often encountered those in class who are unable to understand the relationship between the Virgina Resolutions, Kentucky Resolutions, Nullification and Concensus Majority...something I take for granted. Or, understanding the difference between the "Nickel-D" and the "Peso."

Will take your advice and download the free Unzip you suggest.

BTW, I did open the download and successfully "OPENED" the file and found the Bugles & Flags, v01 which I then copied to the game...and, lo, it worked! Apparently didn't copy the correct file.

Thanks for your help!
