Wolfe do you think you can add the regimental flag to the unit toolbar so that it is easier to identify the unit in the toolbar within the 3d world?

Just returned from a hospital stay the past few days and "discoverd" this mod. Am I correct in presuming that after downloading, I would have to choose between playing RebBugler's Damned Red Flags or this mod?

Thanks

To get DRF into this mod you can move the logistics/gfx file, Flags folder, and OOBs appropriately. They must fit into the folder structure exactly, and, this will only include the Flags. All other features within DRF would conflict with present files. Only with a major collaboration effort could all the features of both mods be combined, but it is possible.

I really don't have time for this, plus I'm used to playing the three tier toolbar stock version. Possibly a 3rd party would be interested in organizing this effort. Lots of time, a strong knowledge of the files and structure would be mandatory to get it right.

Also, I'm about to introduce B&Fv02, with many upgrades, so, I'd hold off for this release if anyone is interested in taking on the above mentioned mod melding task.

what does the red down-arrow do on brig and reg level?
The red up-arrow is advance to cover 300, right?
The Move to Cover button is in the third row to the right of the Flank buttons. The bottom row arrows are CHARGE!, Advance, Fallback, and RETREAT! I made the Charge and Retreat red so they're easier to differentiate, and folks would hopefully be less likely to accidentally choose them.

Do you mean place the regimental flag where the commander portraits are? I honestly don't know how to reference the flags from the toolbar; any ideas? If there is a way I think you might end up with a somewhat large fluttering flag on the toolbar. The toolbar is 116 pixels high; I believe the flags are 128x128, but perhaps they could be scaled.

As Reb said, the flags from his excellent mod will work fine with this toolbar, but you won't get his sounds and my toolbar doesn't have as many options as his. Sorry.

This "Maximum Toolbar" is a work in progress. I tried to expand the toolbar to fit a few more commands (OOB buttons, attackmarch, move 300 yards). It's a bit crowded, IMO.

The main part of the toolbar remains static at all times, and I've re-introduced Groups (two of them: Combat and Orders), but just to the far right side. The Infantry Brigade toolbar (top two pics) shows both. You switch back and forth using the Horn and Star buttons, which physically separate the permanent buttons from the switching groups.

The artillery ammo selection, and cavalry special commands buttons are on top row of the Orders group (not shown in the pic).

An update to the Alternate Toolbar:

* Removed all unnecessary lines from gfx.csv so as not to interfere with other Mods.
* Capitalized Charge and Retreat text on Cav Brigade toolbar.

I suppose the reference you need for the flags is a matter that Norb only can handle... if this was indexed we could have the regimental flag on the toolbar (no not in place of general's portrait, just next to the compass for example). This is a real must for people like me who play restricted view. It's REALLY hard to know which rgt you are moving when you are never sure which one you have selected but if the toolbar showed the rgt flag, then you'd be sure of who you are interacting with.

I've looked around in various csv, but didn't come up with anything that looked like a Flag variable I could reference from the Toolbar. If there were such a thing, I don't think it would be too hard, but I'm not very good with the csv's, and am not sure where to begin.

With the release of (currently beta) SoW 1.2, these two toolbar mods no longer functioned. I've re-worked them to be compatible with 1.2 (at least I hope! :) ). Alternate Toolbar:
The attachment SoW-GB_1-2_Alternate-Toolbar_1-4_CCH.zip is no longer available
