Only map modding we can do is change the terrain type in an area, as that's the part that is not in the pack files. So for instance we could remove all forests/roads/fields etc. The colors on the ground would still be there.
The elevations, locations of objects, and ground color files are in the pack and can't be modded until norb gives us the extractor for it.

Well now we know where we're playing if we ever have 14+ again (Alpine). Although honestly last night was some fun if not simply because it was something different.

At the beginning we were so close together we had to double check to see if it was LOS.

That always makes things interesting though, no loafing about.

Y'all are making it bloody, more than 30% casualties in all three battles last night. Everyone trying to be the first to lose all ten of their regimental commanders in a single battle? Seale was one short in
557. There are a lot of regiments below 200 men now and a lot led by mere capatains.

Yes. . . three bloody battles yesterday, all three great fun. Please send reinforcements as soon as possible. The enemy is coming back for more. And we, so few, we might not be able to hold the line.
More and more new players every day.
Soon we will try a 20 player game.

Don't be daft, man. While it would be nice, I don't think anyone has the capacity to host that many.

Well. . . I think the capacity of the players' computers may be more of a problem than the host's.

True enough, but the overall fact remains: with 20 players the probability of having 1 or more players with not-so-top-of-the-line computers (and/or connections) increases. We've had struggles enough getting 14-player games started. We've tried 16, sure, but usually we end up back around 14 because people get tired of having to try so many times and leave.
Luckily several of the new fellows have been willing to stick around during the tries and re-tries, so hopefully they will come back for more.
Plus, if we play 20, the only map we can use is alpine, lest we stretch fully from map edge to map edge as we have seen with even 14.

Did the games last night freeze, 1017 and 1019?
