Color of water in the game

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

In the mapname.csv – file you can place objects in the Creek, Stream , or place objects such as small rocks on the dirt roads.

This way you can tell which is which, I chose to add them in the stream-bed on the DD_RT map, so as not to confuse the streams or creeks, with the dirt paths.

But, on the Alpine Map – the opposite was done; the small rocks were used to show the added paths.

Example
IDS_MAP_Creek,5,-5,8,,,92,-45,0,,,,GFX_Rock_1a,GFX_Rock_2a,GFX_Rock_3a,GFX_Rock_5a,GFX_Rock_6a
IDS_MAP_Stream,10,-5,8,,,92,-45,0,,,,GFX_Rock_1a,GFX_Rock_2a,GFX_Rock_3a,GFX_Rock_5a,GFX_Rock_6a

I really don't see how they were smart alleck at all.. J Canuck was just re-creating a typical Adukes response. Not being smart allecky at all towards you... If anything, he was being smart allecky towards Adukes, but it's all in friendly humor. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. :)

ADukes for example he is one of the most knowledgeable people employed on this website, and his knowledge of the in's and out's of SOW are second to none :)

ADukes – is without question, the most knowledgeable person to ever join the forum!

I like the fact that he not only knows what works, but why it works, and what doesn’t work, and why it will not work!

Quite Impressive!

I would like to assure you jri, my "smart alleck" response was not directed at you. I obviously should and could have explained better that I agreed fully with your query and appreciated you bringing forth the issue.

"I have wondered that as well Shirkon; terrific authenticity in this game."

To reiterate, I had found it confusing to interpret the brown channels – paths or runs. Because of your query jri, and Shirkon’s articulate response which is always valued, I too have satisfaction.

There is a friendly and respectful “history” between many of us here that goes back to the early days of TCBR and even SMG.

...... and that he is so eloquently succinct in his explanations.

This history allows us to enjoy our camaraderie in different ways – including the occasional tease. Regrettably, that history temporarily blinded me toward the large number of newcomers who are adding value to the dynamics of our community. I look forward to you jri, and all newcomers continuing with us.

Today is a good day to put this skirmish on the picket line behind us, and to propose the following:

With respect and a Happy New Year to all,

Thank you gentlemen. May I wish you all a happy new year.

I am sorry if I worded the original question poorly. I just missed the effects of the water in the old game. Not playing the scripted scenarios I was not clear.

Anyway thanks to the answers I not only understand the reason, but how to at least make a work around.
