Great improvement, especially the arti marching behind infantry.
There was a bug reported by marching through georgia in "how real are courier orders" threat:

"when I order a division commander to attack the enemy to his front, he will rarely attack along the line....units bunch up, march off into the distance, etc."
This random walk effect became much more frequent in this patch. I think, (hope), it is related to a bug that shows up in the comand map movement feature. Often the player will see a brigade advancing towards combat, only to turn around a few moments later and march back to it's starting point. Hopefully, fixing that will also fix the random wandering. The previous version of the game gave a more realistic deployment on the division level."

Is this fixed in the patch, esp. for the AI-opponent?

Yes this has been fixed. There was a bug that was causing brigades orders destinations to stay at their initial location when issuing orders via courier.

Did you re-download the patch as well? Re-installing it could have just installed the same bad patch.. If that still doesn't do it, you may want to try a full uninstall/re-install of the full game and patch.

Yes, I did re-download the patch and reinstalled it. I guess I will have to do a complete reinstall.

I did a complete reinstall including the new patch and everything works fine now. Correct me if I am wrong but the only mods compatible with the new patch are the "Bugles and Flags 06" and "Blood Splatter", right?

Good to hear you got it working. There are a few mods that have been updated.. Rebbuglers, mikesla has some mods that have been updated, also all of my mods are compatible. All the others shouldn't have issues, but check the thread to see if there are updates.
