SR1 Fictional RoundTops

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Davinci, that looks awesome. The grass one looks really good. I think there is a balance to be had between the sprite textures and the map texture that you need to get just right to make everything fit in with each other, like an over resolution map texture might make the not so high resolution sprites seem out of place. Carry on the good work.

The SR1 map looks good also, it would be good to play that scenario on ratio 1.

That 2nd photo looks very realistic. The first one looks like typical western terrain, very rocky without much topsoil. Fantastic job!
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

2nd_Texas and Crikey - I'm experimenting with trying to get the ground terrain to resemble this up-close, and also away from the camera.

If I can figure this out, I'll send both of you the files if you want.

Hey, Thanks to all for the comments!

I think that after twelve hours of banging my head against the wall that I have figured out a way of getting the ground to look like this in the game.

Basically, the game would show the tiles of the graphic files if the detail was too sharp, not good, but if they are stacked a certain way, the tile effect is not as noticeable.

Zeke LOL – that was amusing!

Chamberlain – very good ground if I can pull this off!

Davinci,

Now you've gone and done it. Best ground I've seen.
