okay, tonight was our MP night with four of us playing. Multiple game freezes again using Antietam and Gap map. Log file is below is for last freeze on Antetiam Map at 1hr 10 minutes into game. After the Antietam crashed we did stock Devil's Den with 2v2 Longstreet vs US III corps and game ran fine. We will reload patch based on comments above.

This is interesting.

Four of us tried to play last night. 3 of us got going on a 3-player divisional game on the East Cavalry Field. It seemed to be running very smoothly on the host's 10 meg connection for 10 or 15 minutes, when it froze. We were then unable to get another game to run all night.

We tried every combination of players we could think of, and 3 of us took turns to host, but without success. The games loaded, but then either immediately froze, or did so after a few seconds. We eventually gave up after about 3 hours.

We tried using Hamachi and without Hamachi.

2 of the players have succesfully played in the past but couldn't last night. The other two players were new to hosting / MP.

Any ideas??

Should we have saved logs? Can you remind me how to do this?

I am curious, were you using any modded files. We have a modded tool bar we are using that we are going to not use next week to see if that solves anything. But, we used it before with no issues until Antietam patch. We will also reload the patch as problem has intensified since then.

I don't think we were using any mods. Since then we have played a few games and are being much more cautious - ie we are double checking we have no mods. I have had a couple of short games go OK and a couple freeze.

There are a lot of errors in that log file. I would start with cleaning them up. Any error in the log is a potential warning for problems.

Okay, just spent last 4 hours troubleshooting this reoccurring MP freeze. We disabled all mods, we reinstalled the latest patch, but have not used the beta. After we reinstalled the patch all of the following errors were gone and did NOT reappear no matter what we did so that is good...however.

The game is still locking randomly at about 17-18 seconds in MP mode only. We decided to use the stock MP scenario "Heth Opens the Gate." No mods, nothing new, all stock stuff out of the box. We started the scenario 10 times with me playing rebels. I executed the same action each time with Union player only moving his view and taking no actions. At approximately 12 seconds I TC'd O'Neals brigade and had the whole bde advance. 7 of 10 times the game froze at 17seconds. We swapped host once and same error you will see below occurred to the other player. In comparing notes with other guys we play with, it has been consistent. The host does not see it, but all the other players will. In asking people we have pinpointed the time to around the time around the advent of patch 1_301 when it first started to appear. It is 100% always present now. I have no idea if this is causing the freeze ups, but we seem to have eliminated everything else. Lucius is my player name.

We are going to do a complete reinstall tomorrow and see if that clears it out. I have a strong suspicion that someone's core files are corruped somehow. Thoughts?
