We're gamers, so here is a good place to discuss other games you are playing or are curious about.

I play steam-based games all the time. Never had a problem. Never needed to contact their tech support. If their systems snoop on my PC so what? Doesn't bother me. People who hate them puzzle me, I guess they must have had some bad event to justify their attitude but when people raise the subject of doing illegal actions I get very twitchy. If you hate Steam then just don't play any games based on their platform, play something else, there's plenty more games out there.
HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.

Some people have never had a bad experience with Steam, others do like myself. If it doesn't bother you to be snooped on, or have Steam, or like companies see what you are doing such as them sharing your information with other interested parties then by all means.

Also one of the most important things to remember is that Steam, and other frontend client software do monitor your activities outside of your gaming interests, and gameplay. They also monitor all of your online activity such as bank transactions, private email, credit information, and allot more, and allowing Steam or any frontend client to snoop is really in the end a very bad thing since Steam is actually a back door.

Your right there are other games out there...

I picked up the Men Of War Assault Squad GOY,

Wow, pretty cool ! Everything can be destroyed, all buildings, trucks, tanks, fortifications, etc... !

I though the demo was really good too.

The action is really heavy. Similar to COH, but this is better as you do not have to build your men, equipment, etc. As you pick up points, then you are able to buy troops, either a squad, or army rangers, or
snipers, etc.....

:)

anyone ever try the first in this series which was 'soldiers, heros of ww2'?
i thought it was the best of the bunch and hilariously funny in parts eg,if you didnt take personal control of one of your men when he was trying to blow up a german tank with an at bomb,he tended to throw it into the nearest wall and blow himself to bits!cheers

Chamberlain your a man of impeccable taste Sir!

I love these type of games as well, and well worth the money that is for certain... My goodness my Christmas list has grown to the point it will cost around 500 plus dollars to get everything I want.

Downloaded the allied Assault Demo, had a blast with it. The demo has some replay value. Only problem- I got the supply trucks but how do you resupply your troops?
Just an update on how to do this... I DON'T know. I have tried my own suggestion, and I just can't seem to get my troops to resupply at the truck.

Word of caution, if you open up the supply truck inventory, don't click, and drag to drop off, it appears that it simply disappears, and doesn't show up where you drag it too.

Suggestions are welcome...

When you drag it off the truck, it falls on the ground. Then you got to move the truck from over it, just like in real life. Then push the tab key and the objects light up red.

or you could just click the eyeball button on the soldier's user panel, and when you click it, then click the truck, and he will go to the truck, and then you can click and pull stuff onto the soldier. But he can only fit so much.

That eyeball means to see, so to get the soldier to goto the truck that eyeball will make him search it. If you want to resupply a whole squad, say, with grenades or bullets (this usually only works well when it's something communal, like all riflemen or all machinegunners or all grenades, then you can highlight the whole squad, click the eyeball button, and then run them to the truck. Then drag off everything but what you want to load ALL the soldiers with, then click the button that looks like << and they will all get some.

Example: A truck fill with rifle bullets, grenades, backpacks, submachine gun bullets, gas tanks. I have a squad of riflemen. I drag off the gas tanks, submachinegun bullets, backpacks. I click <<. All the men get some riflebullets and grenades.
God darn. Holy testicles. All them people.
