The GCM isn't a dictatorship. We do encourage players to buy them, but we don't play them because we also don't exclude anyone from games. Heck. . . we hardly ever get to play the Antietam maps because some people refuse to buy them.

We've said this before, only half the players bought them. So to play on them means excluding the rest.
Then the other half need to be encouraged to buy them. It's only $9.99. As Saddletank wrote, they are great maps to fight on.
The Pipe Creek maps are some excellent maps and really dont get the attention they deserve. They kind of got overshadowed by Antietam.

That's too bad, you guys are really missing some great battle opportunities. The Hits & courier group have had some very dynamic battles on the expansion pack maps. They even had a battle on the Secessionville map 10 minutes after LittlePowell released it. It only required a couple of small changes. That's a great map for more static battles.

Why don't the people in your group buy the expansion packs? It can't be the price as they are dirt cheap. Is there some philosophical reason for not supporting Norb's effort?

Well I'm sure passive-aggressive questioning will encourage more people to buy more expansions.

Many times there are new players who come through GCM. They just have gotten the game itself. Most eventually do get Antietam and only about half +/- get Pipe Creek. A lot of us are die hard history guys, but there are a lot of players who are just looking for a good game. To Norbs credit we have both, a good game that is challenging that also satisfies the players who are concerned with historical play (not perfect, but very good none the less).

Some of the Gcm games can get large and all it takes is one player to not have a map expansion. Most all of us have Antietam.

Robinson when he travels has already bought a back up of the game, but not Antietam.

I have played a lot of MP on Antietam.

NY Cav is right. We almost always have a few new players, and when they get around to buying Antietam or Pipe Creek or both, there's a couple of new, new guys who don't have them. It's really a pain sometimes.

But one of these days we'll have a group that has them all and we'll give them a spin.
