Scourge of War Gettysburg patch 1.5 Replay Option [Video inside]
Re: Scourge of War Gettysburg patch 1.5 Replay Option [Video inside]
Are you sure? I thought that's in there, maps and packages should be picked up from the mod folder. But it might look at the package based on where the map is located. I know that we messed with this so that the map modders could deliver their maps as mods.

Well there's no info on how to mod the binary .dat files, that's what I mean. They've always been there but we don't know how to mod them.

I understand now. They haven't changed and if you can get your hand on an old copy of PowerRender, it has all the tools to edit and rebuild those.

Excellent feature addition, thank you! I also would have preferred the replay with blocks on the mini-map except that some of the mini-maps are rendered to look authentic to the period and thus are not accurate (misplaced roads, etc.). I would also prefer for replay to show the entire enemy disposition and not just what is visible.

I love the new replay feature. it's great for watching a battle after to see where you went wrong or where the enemy were hiding. You can open the minimap in the replay and watch the replay on that too.Excellent feature addition, thank you! As far as i remember, all enemy positions are visible on the minimap, not hidden. Then just move to where they are on the map in the replay and they show up there.

The problem with showing the replay on the mini-map is that the blocks would get too jumbled together, especially on the 5 mile maps. It is a good idea though and something to look into for the future (maybe if we get a map zoom feature)

I like the replay, and how you presented it, now to figure out how to replace the blocks to make it look like "Painted Figurines" so that it would look like a tabletop engagement.
Nice work guys!

I have just used the Replay feature for the first time and love it!
I just fought (under MajorByrd's excellent command) a HITS & Couriers battle on the wooded slopes of Culp's Hill. I couldn't see a darn thing, hardly ever saw the enemy until they were 20 yards away and had NO idea of the overall battle.
It was a great bonus to be able to see, after the event, the whole battle my brigade had been a part in.
Thanks very much, NSD, for this great feature.

Agreed - it's gold-dust for HITS when you have so little idea what just happened in the battle:)

I take back my comment above. I was disappointed when I first saw th eblocks but now having seen a couple of battles I played as replays, I'm sold. Its a very cool feature and is great for player discussion after MP games.
HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.
