Hello! I'm a new member, but I'm a long-time lurker, so if it seems like I know you all, I do. (You just don't know me. That's how I like it sometimes!

) I had very good luck getting the new patch in, but this post brings up a few questions. I downloaded the patch from this forum, and I don't see a "Matrix" folder. Everything is in the same place it has always been, the mods were there, and the game worked fine after install. Is this patch also available from Matrix? Could it be a bit different and use different file paths? I'd like to add my 2 cents, and help these growing pains get fixed!

No Col. Manning, MTC was talking about the registry. And what he said was risky anyway because deleting the entire matrix folder would break other matrix games you have.
Buying the game from Matrix now or from previous stores in the past is no different.

Thanks, Garnier! I'm familiar with registry problems since I maintain several computers for neighbors and friends. Great advice. If you don't have to go into the registry, you best leave it alone!

Yeah, most people aren't having any trouble at all. We are trying to figure out why it craps out for a few folks (and might have even figured it out). Glad everything has worked out for you.

Cool, another Arkansas, we ain't just hicks, SOW follower.
I've been rattling the Matrix cage gaining intel, and folks are right on this thread...messing with the Registry is risky business. Like someone said here, if you delete the Matrix registry entry, that kills other Matrix games you may have. So, wait, another Matrix update is pending, and should have more reasonable solutions for getting 1.5 up and running smoothly.
Also, all patches and expansions will come through Matrix from now on, that I'm aware of. We'll build them, they'll sell them or give them away...and deal with the install issues...thank goodness.

BTW, during my youth I lived in Mt. Home and Berryville...they were paradise on earth for me. Settled south now, near family, ya know, still, lots of woods, and mountains...

Hey, RebBugler! You may not remember it, but we had a few conversations on the TC2M forums some years back, under different names, of course. In fact, seeing that you were a part of the NSD team is one of the main reasons I took the plunge into SOWG. I'll be posting a few fun things occasionally (I really don't like the "cannon fodder" under my name!) Rather than bump threads at this time, I feel it is important for others to resolve any issues with the patch, so any problems should stay at the top of the list. May everyone have the smooth install that I did! GREAT to be on board!!!!
