Wanted: Irish Flag Opinions

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Probably down to two or three, so, adding some desaturation (our new word as Blau has confirmed) to two:

Reb - Yes, number three looks great, and has that worn \ battled look to it!

Crikey - Nice looking Flag!

Reb - Does the Paint.net have any Filter Effects , you can add in all types of special effects? (i.e...Waves, Ripples, Dents,...etc)

That's what I did with the 10Mile \ Mini-Map !

I realized just after I posted that one unique blemish would look cloned if it appeared on all the flags. I've done a bit of computer graphics work, and I have Paint.net, so I fired it up to see what I could do. Just a bit of desaturation does it for me. The flags look a bit like the stock "neon" trees without it. Then again, I just realized I was giving advice to the guy whose flags have enhanced my game since I first got it. Tell ya what, you do 'em like you want to, and I'll tweak them on my end! :P

Well, I took the plunge, and going with three. Then I made a second three, a darker one, but going back with the first...what do ya'll think. The first one shows off the ruffles best, a tad too yellow, but I think that enhances the faded and worn look.

Reb - Either one of those look great, but if I had my choose I would want the second one, or the one on the right.

That cloth look is a great-step-forward, and hopefully how all of the flags will look one day!

Excellent Work !

I'm not sure what pushed you into working on flags, but you have really changed the games look with them!

WOW - a-hundred-and-four-fps, you are rocking!

Here ya go D, the darker one, before the hiLite process, gotta have Paint.Net to open it. Then you've gotta figure out the rest of the process to get it in the game. A challenge from me to you...heh heh heh

Edit: Oops, gotta zip it first, give me a minute or two...

Agreed, the one on the right is my choice too. I'd also suggest that you dull down the colors of your other flags. Vegetable dyes were still used during the war. They are not as bright as the industrial dyes of the 1880's. I know you were looking for something else to do, so I make the request. :)
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Well.....Photoshop doesn't seem to Open a PDN type of file. I could probably get a forgot the name thing off of the Internet, to open it with Photoshop!

But, I'll wait until you put it into a dds Hopefully.....and not a tga which is beyond my ability to edit!

Now, I'm off to Mr.Google to find out what a PDN file stands for!
