I thought the limit was 10. Wow. Good to know.

Jack - don't take my word on this, I'm under the impression that is was sixteen , but one of the Team-Members will have to verify that!

But, both of My divisions have fifteen Brigades \ Supply Wagons - assigned to them, and the stacking is occurring.

If, you are having the same problem with less units assigned, that sort of tells me that a-part-of-the-code is interfering with something.

But, that wouldn't explain why I used to have only two-brigades stacking instead of three. So it might be something that I'm doing wrong.

Jack is almost right. Eight infantry brigades are specified in the stock division line formation. It also includes 1 cavalry brigade and 8 artillery batteries. You will have to write your own division formation to handle 16 infantry brigades.

Thanks, so I'll just use the other post that you posted above, and play around with the defines.ini file.

Yep, issue solved. Build your own formations to accommodate your designs...that's what I do. ;)

huh? Don't think tweaking here will get you out of building more formations to address this issue.

True, but it did get me five-crashed-games in a row!

Why does MainFormation=DRIL_Lvl4_Inf_Line control a Infantry Formation - seems like it would be something like MainFormation=DRIL_Lvl5_Inf_Line that would control this?

No, you need to modify the division line formation in drills.csv. Just follow the pattern it uses and add extra infantry brigades. The corps formation will prevent brigades from different divisions intermixing.

It uses the largest stock formation to initially place the units. If you use the brigade formation, all artillery and cavalry will be placed in the NW corner of the map.

Not a clue, I don't even mess with that file...tends to crash the game.

OK, Thanks!

It would appear that if the game is designed around eight default Brigades, I should just leave it at that and redesign my OOB.

That would explain why the only units stacking up are the ninth, tenth, and the eleventh brigades.

So, this may interfere with how the AI handles it's troops, considering that I'm doing something that the AI was not programmed to handle.

I can probably leave my forces as they are, with the last three brigades stacked. But, divide the AI units into three-divisions.

Thanks, for clarifying this up for me!

All,

Okay, based on what DaV has just found out, all should be well but it isn't. Example - Talavera OOB. British Cavalry Division - 7 brigades - 6 are Cavalry, one is a Battery. The 2 Heavy Brigades are fine. The 4 Light Horse Brigades are all stacked together. (I forgot to check to see if there is a munitions train in there). So, ideas?
