Davinci,
After much testing I have discovered you were right. The wagons in the trains element do not resupply the other brigades. I guess we can look at it two ways. One way is to just add more wagons to the division commander like most have done, have no real control over them, and then just put up with them going all over the map....but at least we have more than 1 wagon that can resupply. The other way is to keep the division "trains" concept so the player who is playing the division commander will have to actually plan the location of his trains (protection from the enemy and so forth). Along with this, the division commander would need 1 wagon with him only for the sole purpose of game resupply. This wagon would of course go all over the map as usual but at least the added "trains" element will enhance the historical aspect of the game.

Yes, I agree with you, you would give the Division one or two supply wagons, and that way you could keep the other ones under the Brigade Commander to order around by courier.

Other-wise you are going to have to manually supply all of the units, which will become quite a challenge in a huge-battle.

Norb added in some improvements in the Beta 1.6 to help keep in AI Supply Wagons in check!

Also, even if you give the Divisional Commander several Supply-Wagons - after you give the Divisional Commander courier orders to move to a point on the map, the wagons will only follow if they are not under the T\C .

Once you click the T\C they will stay-put. You can then place them behind the line.

*** Did you have any luck with keeping the wagons at a distance from each other while moving?

*** You didn't do this for the AI units did you?.....That probably wouldn't work out too well!

Divinci,

I discovered the only way to keep them apart while moving is if they are stationary apart. If they begin the movement apart they will stay apart the entire movement. However, once they reach their destination they sometimes double park again. You will always know because you can count the arrow markers on the ground and if there are less than the number of wagons you have you can bet they will double park. If I notice this and I am feeling picky, I will send 3 courier commands: T/C, click somewhere on the ground around the other wagons to separate them, and then turn T/C off. Now they are ready to move the next time without doubling up.

No I have only done this for player experience only. Although it would be thrilling to watch a lone commander and his wagons trying to flank my position!

A lone enemy wagon has gained my flank several times over the years, makes the boys jumpy.
