Part 2
This is how to edit the OOB when you are adding in a
second Division.
Note – You should only have
eight Brigades in a
Division , this is how the game is programmed, but considering that I’m controlling the confederate forces I have more than eight brigades.
But, for the units that are controlled by the
AI they only have eight Brigades in each division, but I assigned them another division, so that there are the same amount of troops on the field as I have.
Back on Topic :
Other than the
Commander of the army, you can just copy and paste all of the information in the
E \ F \ G columns, so the only columns that are left are the
H \ I \ J columns.
Now, since the
Divisions go by
100 and General Pickett is already listed as
100 , the next division must be
200 . If you added another division it would be
300 .
Notice how all of the
units under General Pickett have a
1 in the
H \ Column !
So, any units that are under General Hood which starts at
200 must have a
2 in the
H \ Column .
Now, for the remainder of the units you will only be working in the
last two columns which are
I and J columns .
The first brigade must start off at
10 and any regiment goes by
one from that to …..eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, etc…until it’s the
last regiment in that particular brigade.
Same as before, the next brigade starts at
20 .
Artillery units are added the same way that
brigades are, and listed as if you were listing a brigade by following the same type of number system.
The
Supply Wagons – will only have a
number and then followed by a
zero as in the example. I have four of them listed, so I’m not sure if there is a limit.
The
Example 3 picture is how you would end an OOB.
The
courier must be the last line for
both armies, and it also must have the
highest number. There are several different ways to achieve the
higher number.
I always try to list it as if I’m adding in another
Corps Commander which goes by
1000 . But, I think that I could have just did it like I was adding in another
Division and made the numbers
2 1 1 3 0 0 instead of
2 1 2 0 0 0 .
Note – certain
errors in the OOB will cause the game to crash with no information in the
log file.
So, if the game crash on startup – its probably the OOB.
The
regiments can be listed
out of order such as
eleven, thirteen, fourteen, fourteen, sixteen – and the game will
not crash or show an error in the
log file.
Most of the other columns can be
copy and pasted except the
Picture for the
Officers but you can get that info from one of the default OOB’s.
