It looks like you can force the scores in the scenario.ini for MP (did not know this). Must be something Norb put in but isn't well documented. Is that scenario.ini from the scenario generator?

"headline=IDS_MAJOR_VICTORY_
article=EndMajorSuccess
grade=24000"

That looks like when a side scores 24,000 points, the battle will end and the Major Victory screen will display.

lvl5grade=-10000
failgrade=-40000
lvl4grade=-15000

Those look like the grades you can set for the victory conditions. But as far as which one is which, your guess is as good as mine. I'm assuming lvl5 is Major Victory, lvl4 is Victory, lvl3 would be draw, lvl2 would be Minor Defeat, and lvl1 would be Major Defeat..

yes...this file was created by the scenario generator yesterday, and i'm hoping you're (Little Powell) right about the parameters as well...hopefully someone who knows for sure can confirm AND tell me exactky what those "lvl5grade=-10000" lines mean...

i'd like to know what exactly the lvl5, lvl4, etc. mean (i'm with you in thinking they're "defeat", "major defeat", or something)

The most important thing to do when becoming a modder is just to try it out and see what happens. Set those lvl grades, run a test scenario and see what results you get.

I must admit I have never bothered about those victory point grades. I never play for points and the worst thing that can happen to me is when I play an MP game and it ends because I accumulated enough points :S

In the Scenario Generator the victory point options are limited on purpose. The default victory grade values are hard-coded currently, but as described above they could be changed manually in the scenario.ini. If there is need to change the default values, please tell me.

For testing, I suggest you launch stock sandbox games with different victory conditions and compare how the scenario.ini is changed.

The codes are set to what you already copied in above. I took the values straight from a sandbox setup. I don't have any more insights into this. Unless someone jumps in with an answer, you should test different values as Little Powell suggested.

Hey JohnVW,

Do not spell out your email address on the boards as it will get spammed. Change it like below...

Use 'at' for the @ sign

Use 'dot' for the . sign

example... johndoe at xxxxx dot com
