The volley is prepared and released from the AI in determined situations. The general rule is that prepared when no enemy is around and released at the first target, but the battle situation and distances can force a early or partial release or no volley. At the end it can be considered like a battalion fire. So for the moment we have only 1 volley before the fire at will, until there're not targets in fire range which permit us to realod a new volley.

In term of code the fire of single sprites is syncronized, when the normal fire at will has a delay between the fire of single sprites in order to generate the fire at will effect. Of course the reload after a volley generate a no fire time due to reload, that is why we limited the thing to 1 volley, until it will be possibile verify the technical complexity of other organized fire types.

Thanks again Mitra. Now that I am beginning to see all the work you've been doing here I forgive you for not playing MP games with our group!

If you can ever code platoon fire that would look very good.

But, is it there a "volley fire" button? If so, what's for?

Thanks in advance.

Yes there's a prepare volley button, volley is released automatically when under a range defined from the unit experience or manually pressing again the button.
