Followed the instructions re using HITS.

Set my 'distance from General' to 2m
Set the HITS move counter at various distances.

The destination marker only worked for forward movement.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Maybe one of the HITS players on the team can enlighten me as to how they get their HITS kicks?

If a more HITS friendly marker cannon be introduced for this level of play, then it will be a great shame.

Otherwise, a great effort Gentlemen, thank you

The HITS Move control is in the In Game Options only. This is available only after a game is started and you are on the battlefield. It is not in the main game options at all.

Thanks Jim

I understand that but what I am saying is it doesn't appear to work for me.

The Q and E seems to only turn the camera and not the General himself.

I will try it out again today but I would appreciate it if somebody can confirm that it is working for them.

Perhaps I tried it with the Grog GUI mod activated.

I have played hits and those WASD controls don't seem to work properly. The harder part in the game is to move your general.
Sometimes I press "D" to change the facing and the general starts to move. Others I am moving, I order him to stop, and he turns and keeps moving.

I will keep trying.

A and D change the players facing when stationary, or the destination point orientation when moving. Q and E just rotate the camera.

If you press D he will change facing by 180degrees. Space orders him to stop.

Would the team please consider moving the HITS distance options into the main screen? I didn't think to look for it in the in-game options.

We put it in the im-game options because people can switch it on and off as required mid-game.

My apologies guys

I obviously didn't read the manual closely enough.

Its very much like the system that was modded for the SOWGB game, which several players used.

Thanks for putting this feature in the game. Its very useful in HITS for getting over steep hills, running around in crowded areas (where unit flags get in the way) or to places where the terrain masks the destination marker.

It is however awkward having to stop to change Commander direction. I might be wrong but I recall not having to do this on the SOWGB modded version.

I had also hoped that a proper WASD function (as in FPS games) would be a new feature. Whether it is doable or even game enhancing is another issue. I think it would be a cool move.

You have to stop because otherwise you are changing the unit direction at the destination point. This is a handy feature you may not have noticed.
