As LP says, the map is for Waterloo. It hasn't been designed or tested in SoWGB.

An improved version for Waterloo only is due in a couple of weeks so I've removed the download for now.

Has anyone else released any more additional maps for SOWWL? This Russian map is incredible!

Will those maps work with SOWWL on its own without the mod or is the mod needed for those maps to work? Also, link to the maps would be awesome. Thanks Saddle!

You need the mod.

Let me qualify the number of "60+".

There are 33 unique maps for Waterloo. Many are conversions from free modded maps originally made for Gettysburg and so have some odd colonial timber buildings. A number have been made for Waterloo by the modding community and edited and included with permission.

There are about 6 variants of the above maps that have fog, or impassable rivers, or fortifications or a combination of these.

There are 24 maps that will only work if the player owns Gettysburg or its various add-on map packs. Some of these are foggy, impassable rivers and fortifications versions of the originals.

You also get the armies of Russia (1807 and 1812), Austria (1809), Spain, Portugal, Prussia (1806) and a number of German lesser states such as Bavaria, Wurttemberg, etc.

I particularly like the distance view/mist effect you have got which shows in screen 6 above. It feels like a freezing fog.

My only suggestion would be to reskin some of the houses as log cabins or wooden planked. I think these were far more common than brick/stone/mud-wall construction in places like Poland and western Russia in the early 1800s. You can get a good idea of the architecture of this part of Europe by watching film of the East Front in WW2. Many cabins had a stone or brick chimney significantly taller than the thatched roofline as well.

I am sure many suitable textures are already in the Gettysburg files.

An Orthodox church model would be fantastic as well. Almost every village had one, again wooden built but painted and well maintained.

Download was removed though, but I think it's in the kriegspeile supplemental map pack, but that's a hefty download in itself if you're only after this one map, plus some of the map files are in the main mod too I think... like the minimap maybe, so.... I think you have to download the entire KS mod and pull this map out for the various folders if you want it standalone.
