Stores won't know about it, fact is that store PC game sales is way down. Reason being that it's much easier to just download. That's the advantage that the PC still has, though is losing.
Downloading ... plus the availability of products on line has to have hurt retail stores. For example, bought a pair of fancy "sneakers" on line for 129.00 that were selling at a famous sports store for 249.00. Quite a savings!

Of course, that doesn't count the sales tax. Was talking to my state senator a short time ago and he was predicting that sales tax on the net was the next logical step as they have determined (how, I don't know, but I am sure he is right) that Nebraska loses several million dollars per year in lost sales tax.

BTW, I also would prefer a disc rather than a download for the new game. Hope that becomes a viable option. B)

I got Tc2m off of e-bay. I like the direct download idea too.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

A lot of the direct download services are offering to burn a disk for 5-10 bucks and ship it to you. Another option is that if enough people want it, we'll just buy a disk machine and burn them.

We just have to balance it right. We are indie and we have to run that way because that's our advantage. Low costs, maximize profits. If we do it right, where everyone on the team considers the investment of their time vs. the reward a positive thing. Then we can go on making games.

I would like a box version, something that looks good on a shelf. But that comes from a publisher. So we'll have to see. But to burn a CD is no big deal, neither is getting someone to print our manual.

We're just staying lean and mean, very flexible to evolve, but not doing anything that's a waste.

I prefer having the game on a disk in a case so that I don't run into complications from downloading.

I always prefer having the disk just because I like to have that physical copy, but box or no box I don't care. Whatever cuts costs for you guys.

I subscribe to PC Zone magazine here in the UK. Have emailed them to suggest they do one of their preview articles on Gettysburg and will continue to do so. If anyone subscribes to other magazines try the same as they do sometimes take notice of customer requests, often they wait until developers contact them with freebies. Always worth a shot.

Hey Norb. How do I find your Fan Page on Facebook? I will join as a fan and mention you to all those on my friends list who might be interested.

PS: Nevermind, I figured it out. It was much easier than I thought for a Luddite like myself.

Now all my Facebook friends will know about this game.

Well, been doing some thinking here about spreading the news, and I just got something in the mail today.

You know how you get these coupons in a packet. On front of this packet is in large black letters MDG, with their website written below.

Junk mail I have noticed has increased 1000 fold over the past several years, and I thought I may throw that out to you, to see what you may think about sending out flyers as such as well.

Anyway, just a thought.

Oh, one more thing, that is how I purchased my old computer back in 2002.

Seeing the letters MDG, and a website listed below.

Does anyone here do Civil War reenacting? Would it be possible somehow at some Civil War events to set up a booth where people can see this game? That seems like a logical and good way to advertise for this game once it is out.

I don't know what kind of costs that would entail or if it would be even worth it.

I just have this image of someone bringing there laptop to an event and everyone crowding around it in camp checking out this amazing game... until said person's battery dies.
