Hi Longstreet
Those ones you have posted are from the original Seven Years mod by for TC2M by Alesillo. The ones I will send you are conversions from an Empire Total War mod that I have permission to use. I will send you the sprites and you can place them in the game and see what you think. If you have Dropbox send me an email address through a private message and I can do it that way. I have Prussian grenadiers that look like the Hessians in your post so I'll send them and you can compare

Excellent Remus! Very helpful, thanks! I found your 7 years war work in progress thread here : http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/modifi ... -years-war ; and it looks pretty awesome, did you ever get that working properly or converted to SOW? If so, I'd certainly love to try it out.

But in regards to the sprites, I see in that thread a screenshot of some Prussian grenadiers; Image

If these are the sprites you were referring to, they look pretty damn good, close-enough I think for our purposes, send them on over  .

It's so great that we keep finding more assets which we can possibly utilize; It's certainly a lot easier than trying to create all this from scratch. I really appreciate all the hard work that went into making these other mods and everyone's willingness to let us use and re-purpose them. Hopefully we can do them all justice by creating an epic mod that i think a lot of people will enjoy. :)

All,

Cricky - Thanks. I really couldn't remember who did them. Originally I thought Alessillo did them, since he did the Frederick the Great Sprites I've converted, (and am still converting - Russians now). I gave you credit because you're the only other guy I could remember doing sprites.

Long - There ARE Hessian Jagers in the RnR folders. I just haven't converted them over yet. Hadn't planned too but it would only take about a hour or so. Now, if I could only find an hour.......
Oh yes - the troops in the screenshot you posted are German Infantry in French pay from the Frederick the Great Mod by Alessillo and converted by me for SOWGB. They are almost right for US Continentals but their gaiters are too high, rising up to the thigh. By the time of the Revolution, most regular units on both sides wore the breeches and knee-socks concept. Good eye, though.

Remus - Great looking sprites. They might work. But, how about Alessillos Prussian Grenadiers? They are similar but have the black Gaiters like in the posted pics above AND I've already done them. I'll see if I have a screenshot of them somewhere and post it.

Let me know.

Hello Jack

I have changed the grenadiers that longstreet has posted and added the black gaiters like the illustrations he sent me. I have also changed the plate on the mitre hat to gold. When finished they should look very similar to the illustration in the above post.Ill send them to longstreet and if you send yours that will give him a slection of regiments if he likes.

Longstreet
I am still working on the above mod and have many of the different nation infantry and cavalry sprites rendered.I am navigating the production of artillery as this is relatively new for me but I am getting there. Once I have successfully learnt the packing of sprites then it will be ready to go.

R,

Good deal and will send them along with the Logistics Folder changes he'll need. These sprites are unpacked like the RnR ones L already has.

Hey guys I'm having trouble figuring out how to implement new units into the mod. like I've said before I'm still pretty new at this, and I'm attempting to learn just by going through the game's/mod's folders but i can't seem to figure this one out.

What I'm trying to do, is take the Portuguese Cavalry sprites from the Road to Wagram mod, and put them into the AWI mod. As one unit that is currently missing but i would like to have in game is Tarleton's British Legion Dragoons, and Lee's Legion Dragoons (they both wore almost the exact same uniform; which was similar to the portuguese cavalry but green instead of blue [and slightly different coats])

Portuguese Cavalry in-game: Image

British Legion: Image

Lee's Legion: Image

Now I assumed I just had to copy all the lines/files in the /Logistics folder .csv's and the /Graphics folder .dds's related to this unit: "GB_LIDR"; and put them into the /logistics/Graphics folders of the AWI mod. But I tried this, and it did't work. I might have easily missed something or messed something up, but before I try to do it again I'm just wondering if someone on here could help me out a bit with this, or at maybe let me know if im on the right track, thanks in advance guys :P .

Those graphics are packed so you need the csv that refers to packed units. .... Unitpack.csv. You also need to keep packed graphics in a folder called packed within the graphics folder.

Sounds like you may have done this but thought I'd check.

If you post an error log then it might narrow it down.

Thanks I didn't realize they had to be in a folder called "packed", I thought that might be my problem, so i moved them into a folder called packed but I'm still getting a crash. I forget how exactly to save and view the Error Log file, could someone refresh my memory on that please? I can't find anything after searching the forums.

Look in the work folder. Should be a txt file called Sowgb.log.

If you study the contents immediately after a crash it usually points at the error....
