Re: The next Expansion
I wouldn't rule out eventually that some big company like EA, Activision just to name a few will try to scoop up NSD.
Now that would be a very sad day... Norb would be rich of course for the buy out, but sad for the rest of us nonetheless.
Heck if I had a choice between Norb using Steam, and selling out to the suits, I would opt for steam (gawk, never thought I would say that).
Don't release until she is all polished, and tweaked... Better to have a great product, than have that bloated feeling.

Re: The next Expansion
Hello all,
I've played all the games in the series so far, although with little kids running around my time is somewhat limited.
I felt the need to take up the challenge on this one.
I am going to agree with NY Cavalry's guess. The view looks quite similar (if somewhat scaled) to that from the Confederate guns at Hazel Grove. This lines up with the number of buildings we see in the screenshots, as there seem to be a number of them, and to me I just don't remember that many buildings at Shiloh.
Picture 2 is what I kept getting drawn back to, though. That house and farm up behind that streambed seem to be fairly iconic, so I tried to figure out where it was. Based off of some maps and pics I've been able to find online, I am going to guess that it is the Hawkins Farm, and that the next release will indeed be Chancellorsville.

Re: The next Expansion
There once was this great fairly small market game called Dungeon Keeper 2. They were about to make Dungeon Keeper 3 when out of nowhere EA swings in, buys em out but trashes the expansion. So they are likely to do the same to NSD, they'd rather smash the competitors than make substantial games, the same goes for SEGA. Or they steal the idea and screw over the original creator.I wouldn't rule out eventually that some big company like EA, Activision just to name a few will try to scoop up NSD.

I'm sticking with one of the battles for Atlanta: Peachtree Creek, Battle of Atlanta, or Ezra Church.....maybe all three.

Re: The next Expansion
Now that the cat is out of the bag............in making the maps for Chancellorsville the battlefield of Fredericksburg must have been covered. This alone will give us a number of new maps. Will there also be scenarios for the battle of Fredericksburg?
When might we get some maps made for Chickamuaga?

Re: The next Expansion
It will be "officially" announced soon, with all of the details on maps included etc.
Re: The next Expansion
The official announcement of the next battle has intersected with the business deal that I mentioned above. There is no change of ownership or creative control, only a deal related to sales and marketing. The full details will be officially announced in the near future. Our future partner is a well respected company among wargamers and we all expect benefits to both sides from this relationship.
The new deal will delay release of the new battle a bit as we have to make some additional changes to the game engine that will be included in the 1.5 patch. These changes will allow us to take advantage of some assets that our new partner has for use by their other products.
The fact that this is all going down in the height of the vacation season is not speeding things along either. We understand that people just want the next battle out later today, but like Jackson's flanking maneuvers in the Valley and elsewhere
, very effective moves can take time to set up.
