Re:Horrible sound
Matter of fact I haven't noticed any missing sounds with the new DX either!
Though as reported before, I have to turn off EAX to rid the echo.

No reference to DirectX9. Can you give us a direct link to the download? What version should we download?
Of the 10 download options on the link above, the only one I see referring to DirectX isDownload and install the latest DirectX9 package.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.
Re:Horrible sound
I tried the dx download and nothing changed.
I tried adjusting the acceleration slider in dxdiag and, again, nothing changed.
I have a separate EAX options screen and "audio effects" is unchecked. I can't seem to find anything else to indicate that EAX would be enabled. I just can't seem to get rifle sounds. They are there, just muted and with a horrible echo.
However, to test my changes after the dx download, I jumped into the brigade tutorial for a quick fight. Alas! Something did change. When I open up the tutorial, Cutler is standing on the Day 1 battlefield SW of the Lutheran Seminary and he is the only person on the battlefield. :silly:
I ran Blood in the Run and it works fine, so I hope that none of the other scenarios have gone FUBAR. I also have a save of the tutorial if anyone is interested. I also ran it again with the same messed up result.

EDIT: Oops, wrong link.
The EAX option should be part of your sound card settings.

Re:Horrible sound
Re the Directx install--is it Dxwebsetupexe or DirectX_feb2010_redist.exe that we need.
Apologies but not sure which is correct.
Thanks
