Hello papajack.

I'm not going to try to convince you to purchase Scourge of War.

I'm just like you. I really do not trust any DRM that requires you to activate/deactivate by being online. I had a problem at first, and after speaking to others on this forum, and especially speaking to Norb about this title's DRM, I finally decided that Norb, and his team can be trusted.

I bought the game, and I know that if I have a problem, they will always do their best to help me out. If you don't believe me, then all you have to do is read about how this team helped out everyone who had any problems, and I can tell you that the people who were having problems, have always, and I mean always walked away very happy.

Yes, there are DRM title's out there that are just disgusting, and I understand your concern.

Well, All I can say is that you can trust this team, and I know you will never regret buying this game.

Cheers.

I don't mind the DRM.. it's the one machine that got me.. I play on a Desktop in my cellar.. and laptop (for strategy games most of the time).. I know that most of the time I would be forgetting to deactivate when shutting down on one or the other.. I don't know why you couldn't have done 3 or 4 activations.. .no.. I don't have the money to buy multiple copies.. When I buy a game of monopoly.. I don't have to buy another copy to play it in a different room!... I mean even Battlefield Bad Company2, allows you ten activations!! and most games from Direct2Drive.. GamersGate.. Steam.. you can install on multiple machines...

Again.. don't mind the activation at all.. it's the one machine limit that ticks me off... I liked TC2M.. and liked the Demo of this game.. but, the other day.. had to decide between Kharkov (from Matrix) and this.. I chose Kharkove because of the activation issue.. .if it changes in the future.. definitely be an interested customer.. but if not.. I can do with out...

Hey it's better than the old "Look up the password on page 32, paragraph 3, line 4, word 6" DRM schemes they used in the original days of PC gaming, each and every time you started a game!

Then there was the wonderful "Scroll Wheel", which had you align certain symbols each time you started the game. Once everything was aligned, you then typed in the password revealed in a little window in the wheel. What fun!

OLD MAN MODE ACTIVATED: I tell ya, you younguns have it easy these days. Just install the game, type in a CD code, (ONE TIME AND ONE TIME ONLY), then write down the code for later reference if needed. I remember when we used to have to look up in some long forgotten tome a keyword then type in a alphanumeric code, flip the 5 1/4 inch floppy disk around upside down and backwards and reinstall the game after each move . . . . . sometimes twice per move!

Going to tell you of my problems with security issues:

1) Steam: Lost my entire account. The support was able to retrieve my purchases and ID from my name, surname and address. Everything back in order: Resolution time 1 wk.

2) Code Key: All keys are saved in multiple protected documents, these documents are saved on USB pendrive as well (in case of HD critical failure). Never had a single incident with keys.

3) SECUROM: At times the patches to be released for SECUROM versions were issued in delay (it's the same with STEAM versions), other than that, never had any problem.

4) DRM: Never had any problem.

What is this with copy-protections... if you have problems it is with the WEB not with the copy protection. You can go to starbucks and activate/deactivate or ask for support (lost key or inability to activate/deactivate. :)

It's just a non-issue.

The only DRM I ever had major problems with was the games which used STARFORCE. I actually had this DRM destroy a cd drive of mine. It was so bad, the PC wouldn't even recognize the drive any more. After that, I reformatted (since STARFORCE hadn't made their uninstaller yet) and began looking at a website which listed all games that used STARFORCE. I would check there before buying. I am glad STARFORCE was finally shut down. Now I go to old game sites like gog.com etc . . to see if some of those games are available (sans STARFORCE). :)

Hello Neighbor!

Had my issues with this particular DRM up till a couple of days ago. That part was resolved amicably and to do with my security system. Beyond that, the only issues I see have to do within the game it self, that need to be smoothed out. I don't pretend to understand alot of the OS subjects concerning the game, there are so many machine OSs it's unbelievable that all are going to be perfectly matched up with GB. Lastly, CDs are not even on the radar right now, if you are passionate about TC2M, the GB DRM is the only way to go.

Actually I don't mind activating the game online even if it is require more than once

Here is my scenario and concern

For example

I install the game and did the activation , happily playing the game

On one bad day , I lost the ability to boot and need to reformat and reinstall the OS

Here come the problem , since I have only one code , I cannot reinstall and activate the game again as I have not deactivate earlier . The server now show that I have my game activate and will not alloow another one using the same code

Now what happen ? I need to explain myself and pray that the company will believe me and reset the code , what happen if this happen more that once ? Each day I have to pray that my computer will not crash again or the developer will not be so kind to reset my game the 2 time

Constantly have to worry about this that make me afraid of DRM

I do have a small suggestion here , if we are allow 2 activation per code , that will be much better. It will also allow the game to be install to a desktop and laptop which a lot of gamers do these days

I don't agree with the 2. It's just as easy to crash 3 times as 2, then 4, then 5, etc. It's all the same argument. We'll we've already answered all your concerns. I respect your decision. That's why were up front about it, so that people can choose not to buy.
