Yes, I also got a bit baffled as I tried to play Armistead's brigade and no orders ever came from Picket, although my brigade seemed to have a life of it's own :silly:
Now I understand better what's going on. Nevertheless it is a pity that no orders exist in that scenario. Probably impossible to code, but it would feel much more "realistical".

However, as a gamer I don't always want to play certain games... I may be in the mood to play a brigade sized game, but all of those sized games are still locked. That leaves me having to play a larger game than I want to play, and that just stinks to me. I don't enjoy Corps level games, as I really like the feeling of just being a small part of a much bigger action, and division level games can be a bit "big" for me when I really want to just play a smaller game... hence wishing I could play some of the wonderful historical scenarios at my own pace:)
Glad to hear there are so many scenarios coming, can't wait!
Hey Powell:)I don't mean to offend anyone and I hope I'm not off base, but I really don't understand the purpose of this thread. It's a game, it's meant to be played.. You challenge yourself, you get experience and skill which will allow you to beat the scenario's, in which you are rewarded with unlocking more. If they were all unlocked, then where's the challenge and fun in it? It would be like if you were a kid again, and you discover your Christmas presents in your parents closet a month before Christmas.
You are indeed right; it is a game, and it IS meant to be played!:)

I was wanting to play this scenario..
GB19 - July 3rd-Codori-Stannard on the flank (U-Brig) but it tells me that I have to play GB02-July 1 - Mcphersons Ridge (C-DIV).
I don't really understand why I am being forced to play a Confederate Scenario before I can finish playing the Union side.
It doesn't bother me one way or the other really. I stopped playing the scenario's because of how bad I play the game. It's not your fault that I don't play it, it's just because I really suck at anything beyond Brigade level.
I think that it's better to work for it. I don't want you guys to disable this feature because I know it will have more meaning when I do finally learn the tricks of the trade, and finally beat it.
bye.
Hi.mikesla, and others - Is there a particular brigade sized battle you are wanting to play? Since there are already two mod scenario's out (I'm actually surprised no one has made more yet) then who's to say someone can't make more...

Keep playing and you'll get better at the larger scenarios. Practice make perfect!

At the very least, how about allowing one to "pick a side" and follow through the three day's scenarios playing all Confederate or all Union, rather then "deserting" from one to the other?
Just a thought!

Oh I'm sure there will be a mod for that.. I'd actually like to start work on that, but it will be a BIG project and will take me a while. The SDK will be out soon, and someone will probably beat me to it. But we'll see.

Just to let you know in case you missed it in the SDK Thread, you can now play all of the Historical scenario's.
If you download and install the SDK, you will see it creates a new folder in the Work folder. (Work\SDK)
Go into Work\SDK\Scenarios, and you will find all of the historical scenarios, tutorials, and MP scenario's. Just copy any scenario you want to play to Work\Scenarios, rename the folder (example: GB01-SDK-July1-The Boys Got Their Dander Up (U-Cav Div), and you will see the scenario's in the game. Single Player, User Scenario's.
If it is a carryover scenario:
You will need to open the folder of the scenario that you copied, open the Scenario.ini, at the top of the file under the [Init] section, you will need to remove any lines that say Carryover.
Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy.

I'm doing this, it shows up fine but when I go to play it says I still haven't unlocked the scenario.
