Absolutely. Just go into the mod folder, Sounds, and delete the three Ci_NSDBattle.wav files.Matt thanks for the great sound mod!
Is ther anyway I can use the Artillery sound only in the stock game?

Matt what I meant was I would rather use your Art sounds than the ones that came with the Getysburg Sim
I want your art sounds to overwrite the Stock game sound

Copy these files from the sound folder in the mod to the sound folder in your base game and overwrite:
Ca_NSD12Nap.wav
Ca_NSDCBurst.wav
Ca_NSDJames.wav
Ca_NSDParrott.wav

Re: Replacement Musket & Artillery Fire Sounds Mod
The one battle sound has a couple seconds of silence before it ends, which sometimes results in an eerie quiet over the field. I will play a couple more times to see if it was just isolated, or perhaps I'll tinker with the file some.

Re: Replacement Musket & Artillery Fire Sounds Mod
Good observation. I noticed this one time too in testing but never heard it again (thought it was just a fluke).. That would make sense if it has a silence. I'll check it out as well. Re: Replacement Musket & Artillery Fire Sounds Mod
Hi, I have a few questions about sound files. I notice three of the files are named after an actual cannon type (Napoleon, James, and Parrott). Are they actual reproduced sounds or are they generic sounds?
That leads to my second question. Can you link a wav file to a specific unit or unit type in the OOB? Say I had a battery of 4 napoleons and I wanted that battery to only play the Napoleon wav file, is that possible?
Or, if a regt of Union Cav with Carbines.... could I link a wav file to cav units? I'd like to make a wav of this and attach it to my yankee cav units: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOdxbkuAM9c
thanks!

Update 7/14/11: Fixed a intermittent artillery sound drop out. Just re-download and unzip. It will overwrite the old files.

Re: Replacement Musket & Artillery Fire Sounds Mod
I just picked cannon fire sounds that I thought sounded awesome.. Although I did gauge the size of the boom to the size of the cannon.. For example, the 10 pound is a little less boomy than the 12 pound etc.Hi, I have a few questions about sound files. Second question, I don't think that's possible. The sounds are played randomly according to the type unit that is producing them.
Yes can't link a sound to a specific unit, but you can change the global sound for that unit. So if you wanted to change the Carbine sound, just overwrite the appropriate file in the Sounds folder.

Re: Replacement Musket & Artillery Fire Sounds Mod
Make a new type gun unit in the unitglobal (edit sound to new sfx name), identify and call it from 'Sounds' (your wave file) in the sfx, attach the new type to the unit in the oob. That leads to my second question. Pretty sure that will do it.
