I apologize if this has already been addressed somewhere else, but what is the extra content on the SOWGB disk version?
The CD includes extra content not found in the direct download version including:

- A full color 113 page printed game manual.
- Additional files on the CD:
o Eight historical maps of the Gettysburg battlefield.
o A set of historical maps of the town of Gettysburg.
o Four complete mods for the game produced by members of the development team.
o A collection of five additional sprite sets that can be included in mods.
o The complete Official Records containing the commanders reports from both Union and Confederate generals.
o The complete Order of Battle for the entire Gettysburg Campaign.
o A listing of the twenty best books written about the Battle of Gettysburg.

Ok now, are we who downloaded the game, going to get these extra features like the 5 sprite packs, maps etc,and are we also going to be able to get a cd as well? One more thing could someone post some screens of these sprites packs that would be cool.
You will need to buy the CD version of the game to get the bonus content, printed manual, etc.
I understand the reasoning behind the decision---I honestly do. But I cannot say that I'm not a little disheartened.

Is there anyway to upload some of the printed material in .pdf form and send them to those of us upon request, or perhaps charge a supplemental fee?

Cheers!

As I noted on another thread, everything except the sprites and one of the mods is available elsewhere either on this site or on the web. We have just gathered things up into a slightly neater package.

Please understand that there is just no way for us to keep doing this and funding this effort if we give away everything for free. We will be putting in 100's if not 1000's of man hours in doing a free patch for the existing game, time we could spend putting together an expansion pack that we could charge for. The content on the CD and the manual is why the CD costs more money. I understand that everyone always wants everything for free, we feel that we do give away a lot in our patches to our existing customers. But we do have to draw a line at some point. We very carefully consider and plan what will go into our patches and what will go in expansions, and what people are paying for. Of course you have every right to ask :) But please understand our reasons for our decision on this.

Perhaps us downloaders could pay the difference plus S&H.

A thought....

General Norb,

I beg to apologize for the possible mis-understanding of my post. :(
By all judgement sir, you should earn the fruits of your victory with the work and effort you and your staff have put forth. We all have been honored to reap the benefits of the great victories of TC2M and SOW. Mine was a question that seemed to be taken out of context. I will be forever grateful that your leadership has produced such great achievements. Your fellow officers et.al. should well be commended for action above and beyond the call of duty.

Your obedient servant,
Donald R. Hetrick
