Just have to say again. Anyone not playing / using SOW is missing one of the great programs of all times. Norb has put together a masterpiece and this mod or desaturated Terrain is awesome. I cant stop playing.
Thanks again and again

Thanks again to all for the great terrain mod and to LP for the bonus scenarios. Fantastic! :)

Do you think you could do the same for Chancellorsville?

I know it's just out, and it may be the result of where I live, but I'm just not used to seeing so many lime-green trees.

Trees really can be that colour IRL, but usually only for a few weeks in spring. Mind you, Chancellorsville was fought at the end of April so the colours could well be about right.

From other posts I think Jolly is already experimenting with a desaturated version of the stock CV graphics. He's a past master at this sort of mod.

As Tank says, Spring vegetation will be brighter but if there's an appetite for a desaturated version then it can be done.

Thanks Crikey, I know what you are getting at. I've never tried to simply desaturate paints just for the sake of it, rather to try and balance things within the constrictions of the graphics engine (shaders etc), and also within the limits of what is modable atm for the terrain/maps etc.

I'd love to try and get a nice sky/tree balance for instance.

While I like the vegetation very much, the blue sky now seems very dull and grey (and I'm not talking about the part with clouds in it!)

Is the entire game palette linked or could a brighter blue sky be reintroduced?

If it can't be, no problem, was just curious.

Tank - No. Not linked at all. I expect it's because the contrast between the desaturated vegetation is less. Skies are built into the maps themselves.

Jolly - yeah, I know you do so much more with your terrain mods. Be good to see what you come up with.

As far as I remember the sky file was one of the files that could be modded and placed back into the map file.

The file is called strato and is located in the lsl file.
