In TC2M we have corps commanders, but trying to play the whole battle as an army general I noticed I could not order the corps commander to move his whole corps somewhere I could only give orders like these to division and brigadier generals. Will that be the same in gettysberg or can we give corps commanders an order to move their whole corps somewhere.
Also is it easier to distinguish different levels of officers?Mainly division from brigadier commanders? (without actually having to read their command)

We discussed this internally and the outcome is that there was no point in putting in corps level commands since on the GB maps there was almost no place you could form a full corps, especially for the CS side. On the Union side, Meade grabbed divisions and brigades as needed with little if any respect for their original corps assignment. On July 3, 6th corps had two division below BRT and one on Culps Hill, about as far apart as possible.
On the Union side, Corps and division officers will have their correct command flags while on the CS side, you will just have to read the display as they did not have any distinctive flags.

I understand the reasoning but if we want to mod the game and make corps move as a unit would it not be better to have the option anyway? Does it take a lot of extra work to do that?
Also in multiplayer if we have a corps commander that cannot really give any orders what is the point of having him? in single player he might boost moral but if iam playing a s a corps commander in multiplayer, what would be my role?
Thank you

If you are a Corps commander in MP, your role is virtually the same as the historic commanders!! Give an order and pray that your subordinates obey.

I remember it was mentioned somewhere that if you are a Corps Commander, you will still be able to control at least one of your Divisions.

For SP, you are fee to make a mod and add in all of the corps level formations you want. You will need to change the button graphics, the gui.csv file, and drills.csv to add in your new formations. Note that the AI will not use them as it has not been programmed to know that they exist or how/when they should be used.
For MP, Mods are probably not going to work, although we have to test this. The role of a Corps CO depends on the number of subordinate units and the number of players. If you have players for all the slots, then your role is to give them their orders and adjust as needed. If you don't have all of the command positions taken, you can issue orders to any AI commanded unit, just as you can in SP.
