Getting some nice depth in the terrain ...

Jolly - It's sort of difficult to see the background but it appears to be a sort of stream showing.

To prevent the trees from displaying in the stream, stroke the outside of the stream in the mapname.bmp with two-pixels on the outside.

Another way is to place small bushes or rocks along the outside border of the stream, this will prevent the game from placing trees in those spots.

The same thing can be done to prevent the game from placing trees in the roads.
