I played through with no problems, except winning!
This was a great mod, really immersive and I loved it.

Thanks for that feedback David. Although a fix is highly unlikely, a couple of questions if you don't mind.
1) Did you at least win enough points to play the final carryover? Dumb question, but you mentioned you didn't win, so, just for clarification.
2) How long ago did you play this scenario set, the 3 Days and, or the Wolf Hill Line 3 Days?

The reason I'm asking the second question is I'm thinking the feature introduced by a patch that shows totally demolished artillery pieces after a direct hit might be the culprit that's producing these errors now. If the demolished gun also eliminates all the crew this might be the issue. IOW, the carryover positions feature might have been killed by the demolished gun feature.

But then again, if this assumption or guess is correct, why aren't regular carryovers affected?
And another quandary, why are there no problems with the first carryover? If the demolished gun theory is correct, surely there were at least one or two of these happenings during that 150 minute scenario.

Any feedback concerning this dilemma is most welcome.

Now I really have to think.

I'm not one to give up on a battle and usually find a way.
I've almost finished Super Mario World yet again - wonderful playability and challenge, you just don't give up!

Same with SOW, so it must have worked! Sorry I can't give you anymore info Randy

Yoshi's Island next!

Attention Win 8 users

It has been brought to my attention recently that B&F is not compatible for MP, multi-player, play when using Win 8 or it's most recent updates. I regret that this issue will not be addressed on my end because I do not have access to that OS, and I will be passing it by due to MS's new direction away from PC gaming in favor of tablets and like portable devices.

B&F was designed under XP and Win 7, but play is at it's best under Win 7 64 bit primarily because of the RAM factor...the option of more RAM available to the 64 bit format simply translates toward better performance.

Fortunately I have heard of no problems with Win 8 regarding SP, single player, play as long as the compatibility mode is set for XP or Win 7.

Thanks for the continued support and following of the Bugles and Flags mod. You all have made me proud by making it one of SOW's most popular mods.

Sincerely,

Randy Keen, aka RebBugler

Reb - Your flags have changed the game for the best, I'm still not sure why they are not a part of the default games install.

Keep up the excellent work!

Upgrade to version XIV...see first post

As with my latest quests for improved performance, B&F is now moving into the 8K texture size era...

HI

I downloaded the mod "Bugles & Flags XIV" - and as you say there is a problem with win 8 with this mod. unfortunately I use win 8 and found it crashing within a few minutes in MP games.

Is there any chance you can split out the flags from the tool bar - that way we could isolate if it's the tool bar or the flags that are causing the problem?

In the mean time I'm going to try out the maximum toolbar by CCH so would love your flags section?

Thanks

Ok, sans flags, see if this works for Win 8 MP play...

Unzip and copy to the Mods folder
B&F Toolbar

If successful please report back so I can make this option more readily available...thanks in advance.

reb...just downloaded it, and will give it a try...will need to get a few friends to get it as well, since even with Win 8 I wasn't having any problems with the old B&F playing solo, just multi-player games...

Thanks for the updated file.

I've downloaded this and played a multi player game (though just me, but set up as multi) and played for about 20 mins before I exited for dinner, previously it crashed within a couple of minutes, so happier that it actually played for longer, will do a longer test later on when I get the time.

One Question I have - What is the DRILLS CSV - the reason I asked is that I had to disable my "courier&Maps" mod as that also has drills.csv file in it and I really love that mod. I found this to be the case also with the full version of the B&F mod.

Yeah, I need to get with MTG and see how we can merge our Drills to help out MP play. Maybe if you just omit (rename) the Drills.csv file in Courier&Maps the two mods together will still work. At least I know the courier and map parts should not be affected, just called formations that differ between the two might have issues. For sure you need the B&F Drills or MANY formations won't work.

Thanks for the feedback... :)
