Try to run the game with AVG disabled.

AVG 9.0. I think that's what you want right?
That was the problem for me, had to disable the AVG shield to get SOW to run. Making exceptions did not work.

Yup.
So did you try it with your antivirus disabled?

I just got some in-person technical help. What he says is that this is a firewall problem and I have to make an exception for the program that accesses the internet for SOWG. What program is this? You are right though. It is AVG that is causing this.

Double check that the AVG shield is off...it must be. Restart your computer and check for the pop up that says your computer is unprotected because the shield is off. If there is no pop up flag, the shield is still on.

Will this mean my computer is unprotected in some way? Cuz if I get a virus or something, I choose my computer over SOWG.

Edit. And even with the resident shield off it still says runtime error btw.

Well we just had you disable it to determine if that was causing the issue. But if you turn it off and it's still crashing, then that's obviously not it. But are you 100% sure it's turned off? To make sure, go to your task manager to see if the AVG process is running. Hit Ctrl-Shift-Esc to go to your task manager. Look down the list of processes, and see if there is any AVG process running. If it is, end the process and then try the game again..

So, you reinstalled and reactivated with the shield off, and still a problem?

Ok I might have found the source of the problem, but this would really piss me off if it was. Well, just cuz, I checked the status of my activation code. It said:

Allowable activations: 1

Remaining activations: 0

My worry is that my game is deactivated, and cannot be reactivated and I am installing an unactivated game. So basically I lost my ownership of the game. Now I didn't mean to install it into any seperate folder. In fact I don't see any other folder I installed it to. But I pray this is not the reason. It cost like $50. Now that would be a piece of crap if I lost it all right?
