With that artillery shell burst, was there a very short momentary speck of a yellowish/red flash at the epicenter of and preceding the smoke cloud?

That is the one thing in the artillery shell bursts in TC2M which detracts somewhat from realism.
I'd think to do it right though might be a PITA because the intensity and size of the flash should change depending on the viewer's relative distance from the burst and lighting conditions...overcast, storms, dusk, etc. and far off bursts should probably show no flashes.

I completely agree and our team reflects that. Derek basically works full time on effects and terrain graphics. This reflects NSD's dedication to making sure the maps are as realistic as possible.

What are the size of the maps?

A year or so ago, it sure seemed not much could trump TC2M as good as it was/is. I geuss that was then and this is now! You all have just about thought of everything. Man, I hope there's no shortage of CDs or (will it be DVDs) when the new game is finally released. ;)

There will be a direct download option. But we haven't focused too much on that right now.
