probably be wise if i had a bit of skill playing the vanilla game first, never mind the nap mod!
when i stop getting my clock cleaned by the ai i may think about it.
ive played mp with a few other games and watching and listening to the morons who insult each other with considerable venom was enough to put me off for good.

not saying you chaps are the same but ive yet to see an mp game which doesnt bring out the worst in at least one of its members.i think id be interested if the game was for want of a better phrase,'roleplayed' as we used to do in my early days of wargaming.(coincidentaly,in the same wargames club as charles grant and george gush.shows my age!)

im a doorman for a real job,and i have to listen to idiots shouting their mouths off for a living (well up to a point!) so the thought of listening to the same garbage during my treasured leisure time..well,im not going to do that! cheers

oh,sorry for hijacking the thread a little bit gunship.

I hope you don't mind a bit of criticism Gunship but the uniform colours are very bright. Had you thought about toning them down a little to represent either fading or dirt?

Also, when you get around to doing your British sprites, do, please, please use the stovepipe shako and not the Belgic shako which wasn't used until the 100 days campaign, and then only by some units.

Do you plan on British allies such as Portugal and some of the German units, and eventually the Spanish?
Hiya, they are fairly bright. Part of that is due to the TC2M conversion, these sprites were much brighter in that game. I could desaturate a few units for you to try and see if that is better? I have always pondered weather they were too bright, or if it was the colours and the large amount of white used. Do others think they are too bright?

British will be done with the stovepipe, and allies will be coming.

Also for all files check out the Road to Wagram sticky, all the information is there. This thread was merely as an information thread.

Red,

Completely understandable. There are A LOT of buttwipes out there. Allow me to say, the group of Lads I/We play MP with are, with occasional, minor lapses, outstanding. They are there to PLAY, not CARP or WHINE about stuff. I can barely find time to tie my boots up, let alone play MP anymore, but I follow the lads here on the forum and they are okay in my book. Give it a shot.

I think perhaps redcoat would better enjoy playing with Digby and the non-competitive Hits and Couriers guys. I mean. . . the GCM is very competitive. . . it's war after all.

And there is an occasional flare up of tempers, but overall, no doubt, we all get along famously.

And man. . . do we have a good variety of maps to play on now that Garnier has modified all the stock maps and davinci's new el pine maps.

Bloody, bloody battles lately, great fun. Dead soldiers strewn all over the battlefields.

Honestly, try a game with our group. Our average age must be in the 50s and none of us are competitive in the least and we all have a leaning towards playing the game as historically as possible. We often play vs the AI anyway so you get that sense of teamwork without the 'play to win at al costs' edge that comes from some MP types. I don't mean in the SoW community but th ekiddies who play Total War MP, that kind of thing. None of that with us.

yes i know its not fair to compare the people here with others ive seen.
im not interested in being competitive with anyone, and i have to remonstrate with tantrum throwers on a nightly basis so i dont need it from someone hiding behind the internets skirts.

easy to be insulting when theres no prospect of getting your lights punched out! cheers

I understand completely where you are coming from, and you will never encounter anything stressful in our group beyond being outwitted fairly and squarely by an enemy who isn't using gamey tactics or cheats.

nice one gs.got loads of period music ready for you when you need it.
so quick question,is this the right time to dl this mod or should i wait for you to finish up what your doing? and what files do i need to get the full napoleonic experience?
probably obvious questions to you tech geniuses but im a simple luddite and i want to get this right! cheers
Sorry red missed this, thanks for the music find. Would like to add some for the Penninsula release. Looks like your question on the files was answered. You will need the Road to Wagram mod plus the scenario mod for it. Ive put it all the in the main sticky.

All,

Probably should post this somewhere else, but my head is screwed right now. ANYWAY, when you download the updated "Road to Wagram," if you have anything modded like OOBs or whatever in your existing Mod, remember you will have to transfer them over the new version.
