Conclusion: OK.....If I continue to use Vista - can I be in your boycott!
Ha, if it's 32 bit I'd suggest Win 7 64 bit...gotta have over 2 GBs of RAM, so ya can experience at least the remaining few few years of the PC experience as we know it, with lots of memory. :)

But say nay to 8...and take pride in our Grand Boycott. Watch out Microsoft, we've got ya in our sights.

Yes, unfortunately it is the 32 bit, I have 4GB installed, but I'm only seeing 3GB due to using a 32-bit System.

But, since I'm now a part of your boycott I can't really see myself giving Microsoft any money for a upgrade to Windows-7.

Urg...Thanks,

To be fair I don't think PC gaming will go extinct. Consoles have much broader appeal in the USA than overseas. Especially Asia is still fixated on PC gaming and most professional gaming competitions play out via PC still.

The fact is while the million copy games with AAA studio support will become more sparse there will be for quiet a long time and the foreseeable future remain a core of hard core gamers who support PC games and niche studios like Matrix and Norbsoft.

That is... if Microsoft doesn't turn the PC into the tablet sphere.

...

But just because PC's might go from 50%, to 15% to 10% of the gaming industry doesn't mean the industry wont remain. Look at board games, there are still many small companies churning them out and many people still buy them even though they have been obsolete for years.

I I know numerous mid 20 year olds who prefer the PC because it offers a more intense and better gaming experience with an average higher quality game than consoles.

This is good to hear. :)

Still, the course of most profit for MS is ARM OS devices and consoles, PC software allows them less profit margin. What's their incentive to sustain the GUI OS in the coming years since the PC basically competes with their XBox? Niceness?

Microsoft has just fired the long term executive in charge of MS Windows weeks after the launch of Windoes 8. He was the one who promoted the elimination of the Start button. The launch must really being going bad for them to fire him like this, if for no other reason than to avoid the negative PR.

Regards,

Please tell me you really don't think they would fire someone over something so trivial. For all you know the guy could have been skimming off the top because Windows 8 is doing so well, and he decided to take a bit for himself, or he could have been messing around with Bill Gates wife, or... Anything, but a start button?

If that is all it takes to confuse people is to take away a start button, then they really have no business using a computer. My goodness guys.

Hehehe you people crack me up with all of this hearsay. You act like a bunch of old women sitting around knitting, and can't find anything useful to talk about.

Yeah, I've been staying up on this. Interesting, the other day I was checking with Best Buy about upgrading my system...they're sold out of Win 7 on their online store, that's a BIG omen since this is their national outlet. They also hinted that their machines with pre installed Win 8 aren't moving. Yep, microsoft may have another Vista on their hands...the words getting out.

Regarding the post after your's, I sure would like to swat him verbally now that he's getting insulting. But I must maintain my On The Team composure, and just hope that he goes away if we ignore him.

I know we like to think he was fired, and maybe he was, but it's also possible he left for personal reasons as he claimed.

It's hard to know in corporate America when a big wig is fired or not because their never really "fired" but we can't claim to know one way or another for sure.
