Seriously, Mike, we can agree to disagree on these things but you should come back to play.
Or not.

Just downloaded gcm the other day. What do I need to know about house rules aside from COs staying within 200 yards of troops? Is teamspeak still what everyone uses to get together and schedule times?

We currently play with "Blind" rules which include starting the game with Fog of War and the "Restricted ID" mods enabled. These keep players from seeing the casualties they've inflicted on the enemy and identity of enemy players they face.

Blind rules are more restrictive than the old "200 yard" rule. Officers are expected to stay behind friendly combat troops. And if a regiment breaks or retreats behind enemy lines, officers are forbidden from riding across the lines to rally. Regiments that break or retreat behind enemy lines may still fight, but may not move to take objectives in the rear. Recently we've requested that players not give their guns road commands for the first 10 minutes of the game. This is to offset the practice (of some) of using their guns to scout and leading their divisions with the guns.

Our regular game time is 5:15 EDT/2:15 PDT pretty much every day. There is often a second battle as well. Make sure your game is installed on Windows 7 (Windows 10 does not play well with GCM). Join us on Team Speak before the game and we'll get you set up and tested out. It is indeed still the vehicle for meeting -- and also used extensively in the game itself.

Hope to see you there!
