I also had a McAfee Artemis quarentine. This is because the heuristics alogirthms probably detect any anti cheat code as a possible virus. The bad news is that McAfee will not allow you to trust quarentined .exe so to recover you need to fiddle a bit.
If you only press restore, the auto-on aspects of McAfee immediately requarentines it if you should find it back in the main folder. However, if immediately after restoring it, you then make it an excluded file - it will work.

Thanks, Diggers! Have removed McAfee and uninstalled the game. Getting ready to re-install game...but, now that McAfee and old game are uninstalled, is there anywhere else I have to worry about the game being quarantined on my computer or can I just go ahead and install new game?
Thanks
J

Jack, any decent Anti-Virus won't give you these false positives that McAfee does so you should be okay.
I have used both the most popular free ones AVG and Avira without problem with Gettysburg.
Make sure you have some Anti-Virus installed though. Never go online without it.

Yep. As soon as McAfee was uninstalled, added AVG anti-virus. Also, reinstalled the game (is version 1.5001 the latest?) which is working. Now, I have to redo all the HITS changes.
