I was thinking that too....
Using the Salem Church Map, my scenario was to have a race to secure Maryes Heights. After 4 hours of troop movement, I managed to position 110,000 Union Troops opposite the Rappahannock River and 83,000 Confederate Troops to about the middle west of the map. As stated, all infantry changed from column to line, I don't know if the Union troops being "somewhat" crowded would cause the program to change formations....
Anyways, I think I understand the process now and will try a map with "far less troops" to position and see where that gets me. I may call on help again, but I thank you and others for sticking with me.
I did have one other related questions and that is how do I get troops to stay in the location I put them in until they are fired upon? I would like to do a "what if" and position Union troops within the stone walls of Lynchburg and then try to take the town with me controlling the Confederates...I did a Sandbox positioning Confederates behind the walls and it played well as a defensive battle, I would like to attach now.
thanks again,
the reb
