Bugles and Flags Version 01

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Hi Reb.

About the Zoom. I would like to see the same style of binocular used in a game called "Pirates of the Caribbean" (Seadogs 2) by Bethseda. I've been looking for a screen shot for you, but I'd be damned if I could find one, and I don't have the game installed to give you a screen shot. (If I ever install the game again, I'll send up a screen shot for you folks to see what I mean).

I'm hoping that you played the game, then you would know what I'm talking about.

BTW=> Love your Mod, and waiting as patiently as possible for your next installment.

Cheers...

can you perhaps mod the toolbar-comands like "me" and double quick (comander and unit) on a keyboard key, let's say x and c although your not playing with keyboards - I like playing with the keyboard comands.
That would be very kind.

The keyboard is easily modable by you. Find it in the Work folder and fix it to your pleasure. :)

Hey RedBugler, I really am liking the new flags. They make the game look so much better. The tool bar upgrade is fantastic. I like switching to all the brigade commanders with the little arrows and giving each their own commands, instead of looking for them on the field. I have to admit the sounds still seem to be not quite up to par as it should be. BZ26V.
Thanks very much.

Hi RebBugler.

I really enjoy your mod.

I noticed something a little unusual, and I'm wondering if this is a regular bug, or a bug with your mod.

I was told that any bug report which has mods active are not supported.

I was sending my troops on a road march, and had my character gallop to the destination, and I then noticed that my troops were on a fast march when I didn't ask them to run, I just asked my character to gallop.

Once all of my men reached the destination, and rested I ordered (my character as well) my men to another location (not a road march), I then gave my character the order again to gallop, and my men no longer were running which I think is what they should have done while on a road march.

I don't know if this is because of your mod, or a bug with the main game?

Not the mod. Occasionally I have seen this with the stock game, but it is rare. When I first started testing for SOW this happened with GB01, gave Buford a gallop, and they all ran. Didn't report it then because I wasn't familiar with the game. This happened several times again but after some bug fixes it disappeared in that example.

Now I know, it is a bug. Keep us informed, it rarely happens but needs to be fixed. Get a save if you can, even with the mod, if no other mods accompany it. We'll be looking for it also on our end so Norb can recreate it and thus fix it.

Thanks for your thanks, and bug report. :)

Hi RebBugler.

Thanks. I do have a save game, but I was also using other mods besides yours. If you still want the savegame I'll send it up to you.

Cheers, and thanks again.

Good question I got through PM I feel should be common knowledge, and I also will not have to explain it down the line.

Message from Kerflumoxed

Question, if I may: I was playing your outstanding DRF version of the game this morning and noticed a flag in Hays Brigade for a Louisiana unit (forget which one) that was "assigned" a white field with a red St. Andrew's style cross. I am wondering the provenance of this flag as I was under the impression that was an Alabama flag! Would appreciate your input!

Thanks!!!

Response:

This is the Louisiana Tigers battleflag, my rendition from historic descriptions...no pictures exist.

I think, from what I've read, just the 8th La carried it, but I thought, with all that work I put into it, give all the regiments in Hay's brigade this unique flag. Whatcha think?
