3. Could we get an option for "Volley Fire", "Hold fire"?

I may be missing on how to do these things. I have perused the online manual, but have not totally absorbed it yet.
You can remap the keys, look at work/keyboard.csv

I'll throw in an ini option to switch the mouse, it's easy to code.

My wishlist

1. One huge map able to accomodate two armies of max 150,000 troops and still have plenty of room for maneuvering and strategy.
2. Personalized couriers in multiplayer (with better pathing)
3. ability to dig trenches and fortify position. If a huge map is created, this would be a great feature to have, as it adds even more tactical elements.
We are working on the large map, probably a late year patch.
Custom courier messages are also in the loop.

To dig trenches would be cool... :)

Now that is what I call customer oriented service! Is there a post somewhere what talks about the damage model you guys use? Maybe the "fire at will" thing is just messing with my brain about how much damage I am doing downrange.

There is a new game db command that will dump all the game stats. I can't remember where it is right now, but you should be able to view all damage by regiment.

That's cool, Norb. Personally, I'd like the ability to order a unit to a spot on the map screen (would make life easier on Grog in the Jackson scenario, and be realistic -- "Colonel, take your brigade to this hill and seize it!"). I'd also like the ability to turn off the music.

As an aside, has anyone else noticed that after the latest patch the game takes much longer to load up a scenario than it did before?

A few for consideration:

* Whenever a unit receives ammo, automatically TC the unit before the ammo transfer, then un-TC. I've noticed that a unit won't begin to move towards its commander when it resupplies if it is currently TC'ed.

* Remove fatigue from commanders and ammo wagons; it isn't shown and really isn't needed for gameplay, IMO.

* Both commanders and ammo wagons have a tendency to plot waypoints around friendly units; I'd prefer they move straight through friendly troops to their destination (barring interference from enemy units, of course).

Would it be at all possible to have a pause option in MP?

it would make the game a bit more like a tabletop game

quite a few of my friends would be interested in playing MP SOG if you could pause the game; as soon as they hear you can't, that its only realtime, they lose interest

folks who want the more simulation-type MP experience would still choose realtime but pause would bring folks more oriented to tabletop gaming into SOG MP, as well

As an old tabletop player I can see where this would be a benefit. It also allows for more of the social aspect that makes miniature play so much fun. To keep some sort of order, perhaps it could be a feature that only the host has access to. He could stop the game every so many minutes by agreement. I'll add this as a feature request.

I'd prefer if any player could pause at any time, if that was possible. Paradox has a system that the game is can only be paused for 30 secs after which any player can unpause, but people generally don't unpause if they didn't pause.

thanks for considering this.
