Thanks for the log rclark14. I'm thinking it's the Brigade Scenario Pack that's causing the conflict. Try disabling the Brigade Scenario Pack and see if it works.

Hi rclark14. The extra bonus scenarios are almost done but now I'm completely swamped with the next release... I still plan to get them out soon though, but the next release has taken priority.

Ok, thanks- if I may ask where do you learn computer game design? I have some electronics background but not computer design- I enjoy this terrific game but how do you do it?

Well I started off learning how to mod TC2M. I remember several years ago I requested for someone to create an OOB for The Battle of Secessionville (Ft. Lamar), and all of the friendly/helpful modders started giving me tips on creating my own.

In studying the TC2M SDK on how to create an OOB, I discovered how modable that game really was and started creating my own scenarios, etc. My first scenario was "Pickett's Charge" on Davinci's GB map. JC was one of the first to play it and give me feedback.

So to answer your question; it just took a lot of studying of the SDK, trial and error, and asking a lot of questions. With scenario design in particular, it can seem very daunting at first but once you start to wrap your brain around it, you'll have one of those "ah ha!" moments and it all comes clear.

The best part about scenario design (and most difficult) is making a scenario fun while keeping it as historical as possible.

For example; the East Cavalry Scenarios were a huge challenge for Randy and I because the Union forces were greatly outnumbered, yet they still managed to win the day. I tried everything to tame the rebels. I tried lowering their fatigue/morale to practically nil, but this just made it too hard and just overall annoying. So it came down utilizing a "lock unit" command. I locked down the units that historically did not take part in the battle, so this evened the odds. The rebel scenarios are still easier than the Union, but still challenging.

Born suggested a while back that Randy and I start up some sort of design diary (and I totally forgot about it.. sorry born). Maybe we could do that for the Pipe Creek scenarios. They were a lot of fun to make because we were creating our own history. :)

Hi, thanks for the reply- so anyone can get into modding? All you have to do is read the manual? That sounds doable- I will read the manual then. I thought you had to have tons of computer knowledge to do the coding and complicated things. I will start with the manual and thanks for support. I enjoy the battles and the ruckus.

You don't have to have any knowledge of coding. You just need to be a little computer savvy to be able to find your away around the CSV files, they are the core of the game.
