R,

As I recall, Oates took over as commander of the 15th.(?)Alabama after the actual Colonel fell ill with whatever on the eve of Battle. Therefore you won't find his name in any of the OOBs. I read that somewhere in something like "Alabama in the War Between the States." I have that somewhere, (in storage, of course). It's really old.

There's no way to see his name unless someone created a custom scenario. In theory one could create a regimental size scenario that begins after he took over command of the 15th. Just split the 15th Alabama into companies.

Two suggestions:

A scenario where you play as Lee for the 2nd day attack on the Union left, giving you control of Longstreet's two divisions and Anderson (and maybe Pender also as a historical variant).

A scenario that gives you control of Ewell's entire corps (including Rhodes) for the combined attacks on Cemetery and Culps Hills on the 2nd day or lets you play as Meade (or Wing Commander Slocum?) under the same circumstances.
