@Jolly, excellent screen-shot!

Also - in the Map Folder - there is a ini file.

I think that you can also edit these settings to change the sky effects.

Example:

;Fog
FogEnable=1
FogR=101
FogG=101
FogB=106
FogNear=-2500
FogFar=72000

;Sky
;SkyCubeR=192
;SkyCubeG=192
;SkyCubeB=192
;SkyCubeR=45
;SkyCubeG=45
;SkyCubeB=45
SkyAlpha=255
SkyPlaneR=96
SkyPlaneG=96
SkyPlaneB=96
SkyPlaneHeight=500

Thanks Davinci - I'll take a look at the values and see what happens - best to make a new thread on any new developments on this I think - I'll see what I can do on it.

RB,

So, got a solid download from each of the PG map types. Installed correctly but am getting a Package file not found error message. Any thoughts?

Jack - From Windows Explorer - Expand the Prairie Grove \ Maps \ Packages - file - do you see any dat files inside?

You should see the Antietam & Chancellorsville .

My Bad - I had to use a Hex-Editor to open the file to see which dat files are being used.

It is three of them, Sharpsburg, Antietam, and the CVille.

There is a very simple work around if you do not have the Antietam, or the Chancellorsville map packs.

Open - Notepad - it's on everybody's Computer.

Click File \ Click Save As \ (type in) "CVille.dat" without quotes in File Name - under the Save as Type - choose "All Files"

This will create a dummy dat file - that will load the game without a error message.

Place the CVille.dat - in the Maps \ Packages - folder.

Yeah like I mentioned before, you can get past the error by pressing enter or by using Davinci's workaround. The map does not require Chancellorsville and Antietam to work, but you'll be missing quite a few buildings.

All,

Roger that. All I see is a Sharpsburg.dat. Understand DaV's concept. Will advise.

Note - Yes, that worked. Awesome map!!!! :cheer:

Just had the pleasure of playing Prairie Grove for the first time. Hats off to all involved. Beautiful map and an interesting scenario. I really appreciate smaller battles like this. It's much easier to get immersed in the action with fewer units to control.

Regards, CJ.

Yeah, Pea Ridge won't disappoint, it may prove to be John's most magnificent work...for me, it is. His recreation of the Ozark Plateau is uncanny, I lived and adventured in this magical land as a youth...Mountain Home and Berryville Arkansas.

However, you must tolerate some thick forests. :P
John and I communicated about the upcoming Pea Ridge map for SOWG, and I'm glad to hear it is going to be completed. I finished the TC2M version of this map with a couple of scenarios about 6 months ago, building on the work of some earlier mods that were not quite complete. Pea Ridge was a very difficult map for the troops to fight on, especially for Southern forces as they deployed and advanced up the steep terrain, through the deep hollows and thick forests north of Elkhorn Tavern following an all-night march of their underfed force. By the time they made contact with significant elements of the Union rear guard, the Confederates had lost every element of surprise, were near exhaustion, and had no supply train to support the action - including both food and ammunition. It was a disaster waiting to happen. The interesting thing about the battle is that Union forces were just as desperate, but for entirely different reasons. This will be a really interesting scenario, or combination of scenarios. There were some wildly unexpected events in the actual battle(s) - and several of the commanders played very interesting roles during the battle. I'm sure John's map will be great, and that this campaign will come to life as it should. I know the guys here will make that happen. :woohoo: :)

It doesn't work for me, i have installed the scenarios, Flags, sounds, Map etc... in their folders except the OOB where i don't know to put them. I have a noise.
THe Antietam and Gettysburg Extras were OK but i think this was because they were only scenarios. I think it will be the same for Chancellorsville Extras since there is also Flags and other goodies to install.

Unless you use the install, this is a mod released in mod form, simply copy paste into the Mods folder once unzipped. If you're copying stuff in various folders then you're off track with your concept on how mods install within this game. Step back, and heed, it's basically a simple one step process to install.
